Period Extensions & Designs is Melbourne’s multi-award-winning in-house design-and-build specialist for home extensions and renovations. Since 2002, our Camberwell-based team has designed, extended and restored [XXX]+ Victorian, Edwardian, Federation, Californian Bungalow and Art Deco homes across Melbourne’s inner east and inner north. It has been a pleasure working with Period Extensions & Designs to help realise our vision for our home. At the outset, the design team listened carefully to our ideas and made some very helpful suggestions, before drafting a set of drawings that provided us with the confidence to proceed. The building team was flexible in accommodating changes to the scope of work as the project evolved, and we are very pleased with both the interior and exterior finish. The company was able to draw on its relationships with a variety of skilful tradespeople to help ensure this result. We felt comfortable in discussing progress with individual tradespeople, who were receptive to receiving feedback and making adjustments accordingly. The various tradespeople and other staff who visited our home were all friendly and polite, which was very important in our case, as we continued to live in the house as the renovation progressed. We would recommend Period Extensions & Designs to anyone contemplating a period renovation.

We had the pleasure of having Period Extensions & Designs renovate our home and add period features. They completed the council applications, design and build. The project was delivered on time and on budget. Their recommendations, ability to foresee and manage problems, their attention to detail and their understanding and polite manner made the entire process an ease. Their craftsmanship and finishes are superb – their tradesmen are phenomenal. They always went beyond what was necessary or expected. We felt that going with a company that did both the design and build prevented any issues which was totally the case, everyone was on the same page and the communication was very clear. The project was delivered on time and on budget resulting in a seamlessly integrated first floor addition to our house. The house looks like it was built like that from the very beginning, everyone says. Our friends find it hard to believe but there were no variations except when we asked for them. The construction manager was an experienced professional that was a pleasure to work with. He always looked for a solution from our perspective providing high quality results. His team was comprised of very skillful professionals, friendly and easy to work with. It was a truly great experience.
