Explore other building groups before engaging Vantage. I purchased off the plan, with a promised high spec quality build. The delivered product was far from impressive with visible sub- standard workmanship a result of poor site supervision and quality control. Reported defects were managed unprofessionally by the maintenance team, with a band aid solution approach. The maintenance team constantly lied when pushed on having the defects closed out to a point that I had to engage third-party tradespeople at my own expense to investigate and action repairs. Look elsewhere and avoid at all cost

If you want to live in a wet house, these guys r for u. Just ended a tenancy in Sippy Downs built by this group after continuous flooding of the apartment. Really pleasant to communicate with after the first flood of the property and worked to find the problem and said it was fixed. After the second flood and an exponential amount of ruined personal belongs they asked for a list of damages and prices. After I provided it they declined it and made their own sum because it was too much money. They said the problem was fixed and that it wouldn’t happen again. Third time the property flooded and the replacement items I purchased got damaged and they have completely palmed off all emails and declined all reimbursement for the damage as result of their inability to stop a structure from flooding. Wouldn’t recommend they build ur house if they can’t stop a ground floor apartment from flooding xo

Hi Karla,

Vantage appreciate the inconvenience that this issue is causing you and fully understand your frustration. Unfortunately, as we have already expressed, this issue is out of our hands. We are working with outside companies and are forced to work within their timeframes so the required investigations can be conducted.

Firstly, just to clarify, at no point was compensation declined. Vantage did inform you that this was a very complex issue and most likely not the fault of the builder. Unfortunately, we cannot continue, nor are we legally required, to continue to hand out money for issues that are not our responsibility.

Further investigations are required to confirm the exact cause of the flooding, which currently appears to be caused by the rising water table and the blockage of the downhill flow of water by subsequent developments combined with inadequate provisions from council that would allow the natural flow of water from the spring that originally flowed through this general area. This is creating hydrostatic pressure under the slab and footings and forcing its way through the foundations, cold joints at slab/wall/footing junctions. Vantage have been provided a design by the developer and have built to the requirements of this design and engineering.

If the above is confirmed to be the case, it would be an insurable event that would be a matter for body corporate insurance or the building designer/engineer’s professional indemnity insurance to cover. This is a complex issue that will take some time to adequately investigate, confirm the party at fault and then rectify. If it is found that Vantage is at fault you will most definitely be compensated by Vantage.

I have reviewed Jack's handling of your situation and believe that Jack is doing everything he can for you. He has responded to each of your emails and advocated for you in the background to ensure you received the compensation from previous flooding issues. Originally, this matter should have been handled through the real estate and owner. However, when Jack was informed you were vacating the property, he deemed it best to carry out communications between the owner and the contracted management of the property who are the main stakeholders. Jack has been in discussion with the real estate in the meantime and they have been told the same information as above.

We would very much like to see a solution to this complex issue, but the proper procedures need to be followed.

My husband and I recently completed a build with Vantage and to say we are completely disappointed with their service and communication is an understatement. We were treated so poorly and concerns regarding final finishes were completely disregarded. The whole process was so difficult with and the house was handed over with blue defect tape still in place. I would definitely not recommend them.

We have just received the keys to our first home built by Vantage Homes and I can't stress enough how happy and satisfied we are of their work. Their full turnkey package is definitely FULL TURNKEY. It has everything you would need in a new home. Every member of the team that we dealt with have all been extremely professional and their support was fantastic. As first home owners, there were so many questions and we were quite unsure about how the whole building process works. The team at Vantage Homes made sure that all our questions were answered, even the ones that we haven't even thought of yet. Here's a big shoutout to some of them: Angela - We have been talking to Angela from day 1 and she is just fantastic. She addressed all our concerns and helped us put together a package that was within our budget, but also included everything you would need in a house. Even after the contract was settled and building has commenced, Angela was always just a phone call away from addressing any concerns we had. Kalena - From the contracts side of things, Kalena was always very helpful. As a person building for the first time, there were so many technical terms and things that I didn't quite understand and Kalena was very helpful in helping me gain a better understanding of what is happening. Jason - Our site supervisor. I met Jason when we did our 2nd inspection. He is very professional and will always greet you with a smile. His hard work was instrumental in ensuring that the whole build process flowed smoothly and has resulted in our handover being pushed a week early from the initial estimated handover date. Thank you for making time to accommodate us when my family visited from overseas. Special Mentions: Dion - was the site supervisor for the early stages. I only really dealt with Dion once during the walk through but just like every one else in the team, he was very helpful in answering questions. Kassandra - Filled in for Kalena when she was away and was just as professional and helpful. I have already recommended Vantage Homes to two of our friends and will definitely recommend them to anyone looking to build a new home.
