On my first contact with Emmy on the phone, she was friendly and professional. When we met she certainly didn't disappoint. We have worked with Emmy over the past 4.5 years, yes 4.5 years! Our project has been quite drawn out, but Emmy has been there every step of the way. Her patience, understanding and ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude has been first class. We know very little about interior design and other than wanting something modern, Emmy was able to guide us through the complicated and at times daunting process. Initially the project was focused on the outdoor patio and living areas, but before we knew it, every room was in scope. Emmy really gave us amazing design ideas and the confidence to undertake such a large renovation. Emmy has a large network of contacts and this gave us many options throughout the process. All of the tradespeople were reputable and delivered a high quality of service and product. Given our work commitments we asked Emmy to manage the renovation. Under her supervision the process was very smooth. Of course there were challenges along the way, but Emmy living within close proximity meant that she was never too far away to drop in and sort through any issues. During the process we regularly provided Emmy feedback with any concerns or additions / modifications. Each time without fail Emmy would work through our issues and deliver a great outcome. While not everything was always achievable, she would provide us with the best possible solution via face to face meetings or phone/email communication. (See photo for part 2 of review)

Having never used a designer before we were nervous about the process. Upon meeting with Emmy we realised all our concerns were unfounded. This was the third time we have had the pleasure of working with Emmy. A larger project this time, engaging Emmy to design and then manage the full renovation/ update of our 15 year old, vacant home in Wonga Park. Emmy was able to take our ideas and dreams and develop them into a beautiful result, including practical solutions. Working with our builder, during very difficult times, with the COVID restrictions, the project was completed in good time with minimum stress for us. I can’t recommend Emmy highly enough! So thankful for her help during our renovation - she made the entire renovation process less stressful. We had a good idea of what we wanted but felt overwhelmed by all the decisions ahead of us and whether everything would tie in together. Emmy basically held my hand through the entire decision making process - at different stages of the renovation. By asking the right questions and reviewing my Pinterest images albums, she took the time to fully understand our taste, needs and wants. She narrowed down major decisions like flooring, bench tops, cabinetry, paint colours, stain colours, floor plan ideas, kitchen handles, tiles, curtains, lighting etc and made recommendations. She would bring samples and we were able to make decisions then and there during our meetings, or she would tell me which shops, warehouses, door handle shops, tile shops I should go to, saved me driving all over Melbourne for nothing! Emmy co-ordinated and planned minor renovations, improvements and furnishings for our new (for us but old) home. She has an incredible eye and we were really impressed and happy with her work. We engaged Emmy to help us update our kitchen and living area which, after 20+ years of trusty service, was in need of a complete refresh. In summary, we are delighted with the transformation and have found our new space both functional and beautiful. Lets cut to the chase. It's simple, hand the credit card over have a brief meeting with Emme then let her do the rest. This is what a professional does and does it to the "T" WOW is all I can say not only in style, presentation and cost was extremely competitive. Starting with a blank canvas Emme chose all my wall colours, curtains, floor boards then added the furniture. Dressing it with STLYE adding colourful rugs cushions, lamps, then the 1% was the accessories to make an apartment MY HOME. Always keep me in the loop always came down when required and then not only set it up Tidy up afterwards, utilizing the companies whom brought the hard furniture assisting in cleaning up removing of empty boxes. Emme worked with my TV sound guys and arranged all installs quality of high sound internet 3 TV's all that was needed to host and enjoy. To finish I can't not forget to mention the wall paper in my bedroom. Everything was done, with nothing for me to do. Pity in my industry things are not this straight forward simple but more important owning what quality of work is paid for and done. I would always use Emme and highly recommended all her trades, styles and quality with costs been very honest and competitive. We were not sure how to do the interior of the house after moving in, and left it unfurnished for a couple of years until we found Emmy. She spent time listening and developing ideas about the house, and transformed our spaces with a beautiful selection of curtains, rugs, furniture and accessories. We especially like spending time in our living room and dining rooms. Emmy was very professional, patient and easy to talk. She also gave us tips about how to arrange the space for other areas with existing furniture. Our family is very happy – except my son who is upset he can’t play basketball inside anymore. I moved into a new modern townhouse, all of my furniture from the previous house did not fit or seem right in the new place. Emme was recommended to me by a good friend, she brings a wealth of design and current product knowledge to her work. Emme prepared a client report that addressed my needs and a folio that provided options for the selected areas. In particular arranging Artwork, Soft Furnishings and all furniture. She also prepared a design/drawing for the study and arranged for the constructing and installation of the study furniture. Best part was going shopping with her. She was very professional, listens and understands what you want your house to look/feel like. We have a brown tiled roof that we didn't want to replace so asked that she would select colours that would work well with this, which she did and we are very happy with the result.

I moved into a new modern house and none of my furniture from my previous house "worked". Found Emme on Houzz and she worked with me to design and furnish the spaces. Emme listened to what I liked, gently guided me away from my more extreme choices and worked in with some of my quirky purchases. I never felt pushed into something I didn't like. We bought a house to be closer to the kids school that we really liked, but didn't love. Emmy's brief was to help us reconfigure it so we loved it. This included some internal structural changes to walls; redesign of the kitchen, laundry, office, media room and pantry (including cabinetry); and interior decoration of most rooms. Emmy worked collaboratively with us on the concept for each room and was really good at helping us strike the balance of practicality (with 2 kids under 6) and the aesthetic. The builders and cabinet makers that she used delivered consistently high quality work with excellent attention to detail. As with any design work, there were a few curve balls along the way, and Emmy really engaged with us to work through these within our budget. Our bedroom suite is truly spectacular and I genuinely enjoy doing the laundry now. She has also helped us pick some artwork, which we would have struggled to do on our own, but which we admire every day. Emmy helped us with various interior (and a few exterior) design aspects for our extension, including choosing paint colours, floor finishes, lighting, bathroom fittings, stairway design. She came to our house and spent maybe 1 1/2 hours looking at our plans, and discussing what we were after and the kind of designs that we liked. Within about 2 weeks she had a well presented and bound report and colour board ready and came out again to go through it with us. We were very happy with all of the choices that she had made and the way that the information was presented. I had some follow up questions and Emmy reponded very quickly to these. Given the work Emmy did I thought the price was pretty reasonable. We didn't end up proceeding with our extension, so I can't really say how Emmy's suggestions worked out, but I'm pretty confident that it would have looked great. There was really only one thing that we implemented for part of the existing house (window paint colour), which did look very good. We would definitely consider Emmy for any similar future work we will do.

We contacted Emmy after meeting with other designers who weren’t quite what we were looking for. From our first meeting we were comfortable that Emmy was listening to us and had plenty of ideas to offer. We had a house that hadn’t been touched since it was built in the early 80s. It was in need of a major update, including some changes to internal walls to make more efficient use of space. We had a layout sketch and a list of ideas, but that was about it. After consultation, Emmy came to us with a presentation which included detailed plans, room concepts, finish and accessory ideas and material samples. This gave our project a tangible end-result which excited us. Emmy arranged a builder and tradesmen who were easy to work with and did a great job. She kept us regularly updated about the project, including the schedule and the work behind the scenes. Unforseen problems are inevitable in a project of this scale, and the few that arose were dealt with quickly and without fuss. The whole project took around 12 months as we chose to live in the house while the work went on around us. Thanks to the friendly and understanding builder together with Emmy’s enthusiastic encouragement, the time spent “living in a building site” seemed to pass quickly. The end result exceeded our expectations… the house is liveable, comfortable and a delight to look at. We hired Emme designs to decorate our penthouse and were very pleased with the results.Before proceeding , with her company,Emmy put our minds at ease by preparing a folio, showing us various materials, colour palette and fabric swatches to be used for our project.
