Clever, interpretive and a brilliant listener, Sue is an artful, thoughtful interior designer. She has provided solutions for my home that have added a new dimension to our rooms. Her selections show both understanding of the brief, as well as 'pushing the envelope' which I love. There is absolutely no doubt that Sue loves her work and delivers more than expected. And a pleasant surprise, I can see that working with Sue has actually saved me money which has busted that myth of 'being too expensive'. (Smiley face!) As well, Sue agreed to develop a scheme for a large theater foyer for a Theatre I am involved with. Its current state is sad and shabby but Sue has developed a scheme that will lift it to an exciting and vibrant level. This mean't navigating a committee with very diverse ideas... she did well! Very well! I have no hesitation in recommending Sue at JamesJames Design. She has a high work ethic and an excellent eye!

Sue was extremely helpful in colour co-ordinating my favourite pieces of furniture by adding new and exciting furnishings to produce a more modern look without having to start from scratch.

I have relied on Jamesjames Design for advice on interior décor and furnishings for 15+ years. Sue has always gone the extra mile including visiting furniture shops in Wellington to view pieces I was considering and advise on choice of colour and texture. She has commissioned pieces on my behalf and I have always been very happy with their effect and quality. Sue has the ability to view a room and quickly know what needs to be changed to bring it up to its full potential. The workman ship of the drapes and soft furnishings she has had made for me has been excellent. I thoroughly recommend her.

Sue James visited our home and gave us great advise on the style of furniture for our new home.With Sue's guidance we had a lovely chair made for our bedroom.This involved a trip to Welington where Sue meet us at a showroom with the samples of chairs and fabric.After making our decision Sue brought the fabric sample to our home to allow us to see if that was what we happy with.After that visit it was all go.A great result.Very happy.

I have contracted Sue James several times to decorate my business's and home. Sue has most recently revamped the colours in our open plan barn home. Sue was an excellent color consultant , she came up with unique , colour combination that matched our personalities and the mood of our home. Sue is easy to work with and really listens to the needs of her customers. Sue also provided her interior design skills to assist me in furniture placement and hanging pictures. The place looks a million dollars now :)

I engaged the services of Jamesjames Design to advise me on Wall colour, Curtains, Carpet and room layout when redecorating my 15 year old house in the countryside. Being the third owner and with two previous families having lived here the interior was looking a bit tired. Sue listened to my ideas and worked some of my Keepsakes (Turkish rug, statues etc from my travels) and existing Rimu furniture into the overall design. Sue also worked to my budget and always provided me with plenty of options at different price levels. The results are Excellent and I'm very pleased with the results - I have lost count of the number of visitors asking me for the paint colour on the wall as they like it so much. I was so impressed that I used Sue's services again when doing phase two of the decorating - Master bedroom and Hallway.

Sue has provided sample tiles and wallpaper for our bathroom and separate toilet. We loved the samples she showed us and didn't look for anything else as they were perfect. Sue brought us samples for the window treatments (blinds) for the kitchen. Three samples were provided and one of them was the stand-out favourite and they look amazing. Sue was virtually left to select our drawing room wallpaper as I was confident she knew our tastes and would choose something in keeping with our nearly 100 year old house. It is gorgeous and works perfectly. Sue provided sample for the curtains and blinds for the drawing room and we selected one of those and they too work perfectly. These projects took place one after another 2011 to 2014. Costs were approximately $5,000 each. Forgot about the sitting room blinds and chair and 4 sofas recovered. They were done in 2011 I think. Sue is fantastic.

Sue was a pleasure to deal with and very quickly understood what we wanted and how to make it fit the budget. Our new house build was hassle free, and 3 years in we still love the look and feel Sue was able to create.

Sue was very professional as we moved into a new home and all curtains, blinds, bed coverings cushions etc.were required. Recently one of the curtain runners came adrift and cost was covered by her 5 years later. Budgets and deadlines were kept and what really helped me decide what fabrics to use was she understood what my likes were and didn't confuse me with too many options. Unfortunately I am unable to provide photos as am not computer literate.
