High recommended! Kathy worked with me first years ago in project managing and styling my heritage listed, sandstone terrace home. The style was more Georgian with modern features that would suit a heritage home. I went with Kathy after speaking to several interior designers as she had a great sense of style as well as a great "get things done" attitude that really appealed to me. She was also able to work towards any budget and could recommend tradesmen with appropriate qualifications to work on heritage homes. She really took the stress out of a home renovating project and made the experience really enjoyable for me. I am so happy with the results. My home is truly a city oasis. More recently when I needed help styling a holiday retreat, I reached out to Kathy again. This time the style was farmhouse / rustic for a mountains retreat. Again she designed and project managed the various renovations and styled the home. I had a lot of fun again visiting all sorts of places choosing furniture and additions for the home and am very happy with the results. As well as enjoying all the compliments from visitors! I would not hesitate to recommend Kathy and circumstances permitting, I look forward to working with Kathy again in the future.

Absolutely perfect communication mixed with hitting the brief spot on makes a very high recommendation of mine. I had a plan in my head but it was very disjointed, Kathy was able to break it down and make sure the house flowed more which was exactly what I wanted and she picked out some amazing pieces which I went for and am super happy with. Her use of mixed metals really gave my place an industrial but luxury feel and her direction with the outdoor are has my friends thinking I live in a hotel!

I have known Kathy as a friend for some years. However, if I needed advice on colours for my old house or design for my business, Kathy was the first person I would ask, I highly respected her advice and still do. So it was with great pleasure, I was able to hire her services when I bought a terrace house in the knowledge that the kitchen needed expanding and completely ripping out the old to put in the new. I am a chef and knew what I wanted but was unable to put it to paper for a clear design. I needed a working kitchen that would look to the future, be contemporary, innovative, fitted with a terrace house and could be a work horse. Kathy designed my dream kitchen, who would have thought I would have black 'jaguar' walls, a stunning Neolith island. The kitchen had to be extended, the back wall knocked out and J beams fitted, Kathy wanted clean lines to the outside. A builder was required, Kathy took care of this as I was travelling, she managed my site, plumbers, electricians, kitchen installers and the like whenever I travelled. . We also installed an appliance cupboard (Kath's idea) it has a stainless steel bench top which allows me to work any appliance from there, rather than bringing them out to the kitchen top. She was easy to work with, gave great suggestions if I was not sure, more importantly she listened and followed my brief. The kitchen is a very clever design for a small area, it ticked all my requirements and more. My perfect kitchen, thank you Kathy.

I moved into an apartment in Paddington after living in aTuscan farmhouse for 42 years . I had an important library to house .Kathy came up with a brilliant solution : build it in the wide entrance hall . The revolving library ladder meant that practically all the books fitted in . The base of the shelves are closed drawers to hold the DVD and CD collection . Elegant doors with bronze door knobs in keeping with the style of the apartment . The carpenter was very efficient ,reasonably priced and great attention to detail . Kathy made sure the skirting board matched the original of the rest of the apartment . Kathy is a great organiser and has a keen eye .Re-Upholstering the dining chairs , she was straight onto the right person . I was about to compromise on the colour but Kathy located the right colour . It could have been a disaster . Thanks Kathy for your taste and guidance .

Kathy designed a fabulous outdoor kitchen and created a look that complemented the existing outdoor area. She helped us manage the project and navigate a few complications with installing an extremely heavy pizza oven and making sure that the structure was able to withstand it. The burnt timber finish on the joinery and Neolith stone that she recommended look amazing and have been complimented on by everyone!

I know Kathy and admire her work enormously.

I have twice used Kathy McKinnon for design advice in my home. On the first occasion I needed help with my lounge room. I had recovered some couches but could not find fabric for the scatter cushions to pull the room together. Kathy came up with two options of three fabrics each. We are very happy with the option we chose. She also sourced a limestone plinth for a dead corner. More recently Kathy advised us on paint colours for our front door and pergolas. Again, she gave us a couple of options. Her preferred suggestion was a colour we would never have thought of. It is now painted and looks fantaastic. Kathy, thank you for your wonderful expertise.
