Monia Basso Architects are Architects servicing clients in Melbourne and have been focused on Architecture and Interior Designs since 2016. Our work is predominantly residential including apartment interiors renovations and redesign, apartment interiors new, existing houses interiors redesign, existing houses external redesign, existing houses renovations, existing houses extensions and new houses. Monia Basso Architects find inspiration in tradition in architecture and interiors to develop modern designs that meet our clients needs. The result is modern living with a character that reflects our client’s lifestyle and personality. Monia Basso Architects has current projects in Brazil and Australia. These are domestic projects that reflect our passions. We design spaces for people. We design them to be practical, beautiful and elegant, and therefore, timeless. Monia Basso is a Brazilian-Australian Architect based in Melbourne. Born in Caxias do Sul, Monia completed her higher education in Melbourne after moving to Australia in 2007. Monia is a registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria and an A + member of the Australian Institute of Architects. Monia graduated with her Masters of Architecture and Bachelor of Architectural Design (Distinction) at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), School of Architecture in 2013 and 2011. Monia has been working in Melbourne since 2008. Before establishing her own practice in 2017, Monia Basso Architects, Monia worked with several architecture and heritage consultancy practices in Melbourne. She has developed several different project types and scales, including small-scale residential, multi-residential, aged care, educational and commercial.

Working with Monia on our apartment renovation was a rewarding experience. I could see every detail in the drawings and 3D models unfolding throughout the build. Monia coordinated the installers and tradespeople, and her critical eye ensured a high standard of workmanship throughout. Monia’s vision for the kitchen area completely redefined the experience of space and comfort in the apartment. Everyday I admire the kitchen and dining space, which is both beautifully designed and functional. The hard floors throughout feel great under foot and the neutral colour palette feels very calming. Every detail comes to life, such as minimalist push-to-open cabinets, floor to ceiling storage, the subtle use of handles, high quality tapware, stone and textured finishes. Yet my favourite feature is the under-cabinet lighting, which stretches to infinity in the opaque glass splashback. The splashback also reflects the outdoors, further adding to the sensation of openness in what is a relatively small space.
