Professional Information
Pearsen Design Company launched in 2019 as Set the Stage 101 and began with the transformation of a 1920's weatherboard and iron cottage into a purposeful, creative and comfortable and ultimately hugely successful AirBnb. With the ability to create bespoke spaces on any budget, we encourage small projects and work with an amazing team of trades and partners to ensure your home is truly your sanctuary. With the additional advantage of being real estate agents, we know where to spend your hard earned money to maximise the value of your property for now and the future. Imagining a space into a home that is designed specifically for you and your family, leaves the generic behind and incorporates both contemporary and vintage aesthetics is our goal and we are hands on in every aspect, from design through to implementation.

We have loved working with Lauren and Rayna on our home. We really enjoy bright colours and bold design, but lacked the confidence to make some brave decisions. Lauren and Rayna immediately understood what we wanted and have helped bring our home togRead Full Review

To provide some context to any person reading these reviews we would like to take this opportunity to respond.
As you were aware from the beginning, we advised in our initial consultation that we are not builders and we do rely on our sub contractors to work with us and advise if any of our design will be less than ideal. This is not a lack of knowledge, rather it is knowing where our expertise ends and another begins and using that knowledge to create the best design and experience possible.
We understand as well, that your experience wasn't what you had hoped. Again, we advised you from the very beginning that living in a renovation is incredibly hard work and that there was a high probability that you would find yourselves stressed and anxious and that you would note things that may not look right. We suggested you find alternate accommodation during that period, however you chose to stay and live within it. To that end we can absolutely understand that this was nightmarish for you and it is not what we wanted you to experience.
The design choices that you settled for were in fact, because of some design choices you made without consultation with us or overrode our advice. Both of those two simple choices affected every aspect of the design that came after. Flooring buckled, cabinets couldn't be installed as designed and there were multiple issues.
We do wholeheartedly acknowledge that because of a lack of communication on our part, there were some cabinets that were not what was in the updated design and for that we publicly sincerely apologise and as you know, we also apologised in person to both you and your husband. We also immediately requested permission from you to replace those cabinets at our cost to which you declined. We then offered compensation to you as you did not get what you wanted to which you agreed. At a later date (2-3 weeks I believe) you requested the changes to some of the cabinetry which we attended to without delay.
Finally, we would like to clarify the cost for the works provided. It was in fact, $60,000.50 and that included the kitchen, dining, laundry, new flooring throughout, a new back door and door furniture, appliances, a Velux sky window, new lighting and new electrical in other areas of the home.
In closing Dianne, there were aspects of this particular project where we could have absolutely had a better result for you and we spoke with you multiple time on how we could achieve this. We have made restitution and offered our sincerest apologies for the things that didn't go they way we had planned. We met with you both almost daily throughout the process before and after hours, on weekends and whenever you requested our attendance and we endevoured to rectify any and all issues that arose.
We wish you both the very best and hope that in time your home will bring you complete and utter joy.
With respect,
Lauren Hurley & Rayna Petersen
