We have worked with Kate Dickson Design on 2 major renovations in our house - Kitchen and bathroom. It was great working with Kate as we had not undergone any sort of major renovations before, so she really helped us understand the overall process and steps involved. From interviewing & choosing a contractor, setting a realistic budget, work back schedules, space planning & of course sourcing & choosing all of the finishes. With Kate's expertise & guidance the whole process felt much less overwhelming. At the outset of each project, she presented us with 3 potential layout options which was key in the success of our overall renovations. Kate was also at each contractor meeting to help us ask the right questions and her experience dealing with a variety of contractors was a great basis for comparison. Instead of me walking into tile stores (which would totally overwhelm me), Kate brought samples of her recommendations to us to choose from - she brought various combinations of all the finishes to us, so we could get a sense of how it would all look together. Kate also communicated directly with the contractor at various stages to trouble shoot and answer questions that came up along the way. She went to our house to check in on the progress during the day and meet with the contractor if he needed her to see something. Overall Kate was very organized and helped to keep us on top of all the timelines. We absolutely love our new kitchen & bathroom.

Kate is extremely professional, detail oriented, creative and patient. She listened well and took the time to really understood my requirements and preferences. The entire process was easy and enjoyable. I will definitely work with Kate again in the future.

I cannot tell you how much I loved my experience working with Kate! She is professional, but I really appreciated her flexible, laid back approach. I had been unhappy with the layout of our kitchen/eating area/family room and she took all of my concerns and transformed the space into EXACTLY what I wanted. She truly heard and understood what I wanted for the most heavily used area in my home. The space is now stylish, but also warm, comfortable and inviting. We had major structural renovations completed in our home. The kitchen was enlarged by bringing down a structural wall and we dug down (underpinned) our basement - a huge undertaking! Kate Dickson Design not only helped us with the initial design and layout, she managed the project from beginning to end. Kate helped my wife and I redesign our open concept main floor. Kate's attention to detail and great sense of style has turned our living space into a functional, attractive and (most importantly) comfortable place to be. Kate guided us with floor plans, furniture and fabric choices and was able match both our personal styles (not a small feat!).

Kate was my designer for my kitchen (and main floor) renovation. I would highly recommend her (and am in fact about to engage her on another piece of work). Kate brings a practical but creative flair to the design and renovation process. Kate respectfully helped me work through some larger floor plan questions that I had to answer and removed all of my concerns around selecting the right products (is it the right colour, will it work together) and staying within budget by shopping with me and/or bringing me 2 - 3 options that I could choose from. She spent a lot of time really understanding my style and this was reflected in the fact that there was never a product choice that she brought to me that didn't delight me - even though I would never have had the courage to pick them myself. I would strongly recommend Kate for her exceptional relationship skills, creativity and ability to deliver a product that matched my style while also pushing me to try something a little different. I had the pleasure of working with Kate Dickson when redesigning my main floor. She was extremely helpful when developing the layout of my renovation and designing my kitchen for optimum efficiency and workspace. Whenever meeting with Kate, she always came prepared with a number of different samples for me to review. She was able to take inspiration from items that I felt were really personal to me and incorporate them into the new design and layout.
