“ASSESSMENT OF MARJAN SVETKO Scope of Project: Replace existing kitchen cabinets and countertop. No change in the configuration of the layout of the kitchen or location of appliances. No significant changes to electrical or plumbing. Reason for Selection of Marjan: Marjan was one of two contractors that we interviewed and received proposals from. Both proposals were competitive and in a narrow range. Marjan distinguished himself with his design expertise, attention to detail and his flexibility. One of the major considerations in choosing Marjan was his timeframe from demolition to being back in our kitchen and having a ‘working kitchen’ which we defined as having our refrigerator back in the kitchen, a working sink and a working dishwasher. Marjan estimated that we would be out of our kitchen for less than a week. The other contractor told us that we would not have any access to our kitchen for one month. Marjan’s estimate of being out of our kitchen for less than a week held true. Working with Marjan: •Communication: Marjan was very good at communicating with us about the timeline and updates and changes. We signed our contract in mid Feb 2021. We were supposed to take delivery of the cabinets in early/mid-April, but ran into issues with the cabinet manufacturer which extended the delivery date to mid-May due to labor issues related to Covid-19. Marjan kept us informed of the delays and actually had us on calls directly with the cabinet manufacturer to understand the latest timing. Marjan always kept us informed about updates and status changes which is very important. •Attention to Detail: Marjan’s attention to detail was very helpful throughout the process. His experience in designing and remodeling many kitchens was very helpful in making suggestions to us about small changes that had a big impact. He sees things that most of us don’t see. •Trustworthiness: Marjan is a trusted partner. It can be awkward working with someone new on a project that has a very large cost, but Marjan performed and kept his word on all major elements of the project. •Interpersonal: Marjan was a pleasure to work with throughout the project. Kitchen remodels are very stressful on the family, especially when your kitchen is offline for a period of time. Marjan’s demeanor was always calm, professional and friendly. He spent a significant amount of time at our house and got to know our family. Recommendation: We would strongly recommend Marjan for all kitchen renovations. His attention to detail, project execution and professionalism were exceptional.”

He was extremely professional and creative, and provided me with an great deal of his time and attention. Jorge has an exacting eye, and was very detailed oriented in his design and throughout the construction. And his team worked effortlessly through the job, and they were very neat and clean, and the impact throughout my house was minimal. “What started as a kitchen and bath remodel turned into us taking the house down to the studs. We hired a general contractor but were not comfortable with who he partnered with from a custom cabinet perspective. Seemed like he took a lot of cheap shortcuts. While our home was much more modest, my wife fell in love with the cabinet styles she had seen at a party we attended in a home in the Sherwood Country Club development. She took a picture and wanted a similar design. So we interviewed all of the custom cabinet companies within 50 miles of us. Charlie from CJS was an easy choice. You could tell he knows the business inside out. He listens - wanting this to be YOUR masterpiece, not just his idea. He showed us a portfolio of his work and wouldn't you know it - he was the guy who did the Sherwood home (turns out he did a high percentage of the homes there). I was worried about price but he was in the range of the other guys and at a much higher quality. We ended up doing all of our kitchen cabinets, an island, a home entertainment built in (wall to wall), laundry cabinets, 2 bathrooms, all of the crown molding throughout the house and he also did an upstairs built in office. All of it was gorgeous! He suggested darker kitchen cabinets with a lighter washed island for contrast and it is beautiful. My office built-in has a very rich cherry finish. Charlie knows his craft like no other. The way he sketches out options right in front of you you'd swear he's more of an artist. He has a great personality. He is prompt - when he says he will be there he is, as will his crew (Peter did our staining and several years later the cabinets are still gorgeous). We've had so many flaky contractors (if anyone can find my plumber he still owes us work) that it was just a huge relief for one to be reliable. Best of all, he made suggestions for configuring our upstairs master bath with a built-in steam shower that we wanted that our General Contractor couldn't figure out how to make it work. He really turned out to be our guide on the whole project, and we can't thank him enough. I've become friends with Charlie since he did the job. How many home improvement contractors can you say that about?”
