“My collaboration with Emmy from emme designs started when I made the decision to renovate my bathroom. The process began with searching online for bathroom ideas, which quickly became overwhelming. “I fell in love with Giulianna's work and GDP Interior Design on Houzz years ago. I love her use of colour and philosophy of using timeless (not necessarily expensive) materials and colours; and I love that she is an artist. As a first-time homeowner with fresh mortgage some years ago, I sought Giulianna out for a mini consultation. Guilianna visited, observed, listened and made helpful observations and suggestions on key spaces, considering my preferences and resources. Her approach was warm, caring and insightful. A summary of the visit followed with photos, including product suggestions for lighting, key furniture pieces, colour adjustments, measurements and layouts. It has been an excellent reference. More recently, I was mulling over colours to help an elderly family member update guttering and fascia; the house has multiple colours in the brickwork. With the old colour no longer available, the pressure was on to choose something new, and soon. This is a costly update with the potential to go horribly wrong. Having reached an impasse with four options (and samples painted on downpipes), I had a brainwave to contact Giulianna. Her work schedule was full but when I explained the homework I had done, she generously allowed me to send photos and came back promptly with a standout preferred colour. A brief telephone chat took in suggested colours also for eaves, window/door frames and railings. Revisiting the painted samples, the suggestions made perfect sense. What a relief! The project can go ahead with confidence. I am now seeing (and loving) that colour on houses with similar brick type and cannot wait to see my relative's project completed.
