Designed by Deb

Deb came recommended by our builder (Ray Kershaw, Mondo Exclusive Homes) during the design phase of our new home in North Perth. At the time, we were a little reluctant to spend additional funds on refining our kitchen and other cabinetry after having just gone through the design process. Nevertheless, we engaged Deb’s services. I am happy to say that the value Deb brought to the design, refinement and finishings of our project is unparalleled. Deb is helpful, knowledgeable and has an excellent eye for detail. Perhaps one of the greatest things about working with Deb was the new and different products she was able to introduce us to, many we simply wouldn’t have known about on our own. We continue to attribute many of the parts we love most about our home to the efforts and expertise of Deb. In fact to this day she continues to add value, even though we are well beyond her scope. Many thanks Deb, we are very grateful for all you have done.

Downsizing from a 4-bedroom, two storey house into a small two bedroom place at the age of 87 left me stressed and very anxious. Debbie @ Designed by Deb and Paul @ Hycraft Homes made it easy and exciting. Debbie gave excellent advice and suggestions, she made clever use of the space available throughout the house (kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry, hallway). She has a great eye for detail and her designs have been creative and very practical. Two built-in cupboards became one spacious walk-in pantry, one outdated bathroom became a modern new bathroom with walk-in shower, and a new “ensuite” bathroom. The kitchen is small but feels big and has been thoughtfully designed to have great workflow. Debbie advised and sourced all the kitchen appliances for me at good prices and personally arranged the delivery and installation. She recommended that I use the same stone for the kitchen benchtop and splashback – making the small kitchen look bigger, very modern and professional. She has turned it into a wonderful workspace with excellent storage. Most of all Debbie listened to me and designed a kitchen that works for me. It is modern and streamlined, and I love it. The whole house with its clever design has been an absolute joy to move into.

I worked very closely with Deb in 2018 on all the cabinetry for my new two story home. This included cabinetry design and material and colour selections for the kitchen, scullery, bathrooms, laundry, al fresco and robes. Deb is very knowledgeable and professional. She listened to and was receptive and responsive to my feedback. We are very happy with the outcome.

Working with Deb to design the kitchen for our new home in Waterman’s Bay was a delight. She listened to our desires and ideas, and worked hard to create something that captured what we wanted whilst also reflecting current styles. She created a beautiful, functional kitchen that went on to finish in the top three in the WA HIA Awards for 2019, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Deb is easy to talk to, always kept us up to date and didn’t mind how many times we changed our minds. We would recommend Deb to anyone.”

I hired Deb to design my Kitchen, Scullery, Laundry, Bathrooms and WIR. Deb helped us in creating the ideal space for our daily lives. Deb was creative and had excellent ideas in regards to finishes and products (cool style advice and is knowledgeable on current trends) With Deb's assistance we overcome issues which could have affected the overall design due to exposed rammed earth walls and the plumber locating services in the wrong location prior to hiring Deb, but Deb's skills in problem solving meant my kitchen design was not sacrificed. Deb also pays attention to the smallest details of the project (she misses nothing!) Which resulted in a smooth transfer from design to install. Overall I would love to work with Debbie again and highly recommend her services.
