Part way through the building of our home, we made contact with Janine Mendel. Her ideas for creating functional and beautiful outdoor spaces inspired us to carry the quality of the house design out to the boundaries of the block. Our house & garden project is now complete and the outcome is awesome - all spaces are lived in, it is easy to maintain, and we have an ongoing sense of Wow!! It is a case of the end result being greater than the sum of the individual parts as they - house design and landscape design - enliven one another. We strongly recommend working on a landscape design before signing off on a house design. We had met with a couple of landscaper designers during the house design stage but we didn't connect on a vision for our site, plus it is difficult to get your head around so many vital decisions in a short timeframe. Speak with Janine Mendel while planning your house and she will be able to visualise your finished project, advising on external floor treatments, location and levels of external steps, window positioning, creating the feel you want for the walk to your front door, what to include in your electrical plan for outdoor spaces, pool design and position, etc, etc. Integration of your house and garden design before work commences on your block will minimise the headaches and surprise expenses throughout your project.

We met with Janine from Cultivart looking to get a design for our back garden which had very limited space and one we didn't enjoy being in. What we got was beyond our expectations. We knew how we wanted to use the garden, but Janine came up with ideas that we ourselves would not have considered otherwise. This resulted in a space that was better than anything that we could have come up with. It was a design that transformed the front and back spaces into a sanctuary. Not only did Janine design in all the elements we were looking for, but was able to bring in a lot more elements than expected. The end result is an outside that is inviting and playful and we find ourselves enticed out to enjoy it all of the time. It's a joy to be in. She was also able to refer us to a landscaper who is well versed with Janine's work, who was able to make her design come to life. We were recommended to Janine Mendel of Cultivart by a client of ours and after seeing some of the fantastic designs and creative concepts from previous projects, we contracted her to design our back and front yards. After meeting with Janine on site we briefed her on an urban/street sort of theme which we were wanting to achieve. With limited space to work with she ran through some ideas, took a whole lot of measurements and photos, and the end result was a unique and unimaginable design that exceeded all expectations.

Janine Mendel created a design for both our front garden and pool area using a combination of new planting and clever use of existing plants as well. The front plan included new fence panels, steps and decking which complemented the existing house. Janine provided ongoing input when required during construction and after completion. We extremely happy with the outcomes attained and the standard of service offered by Cultivart Landscape Design.

Janine is an excellent designer who was always right! I mean this in a good way. She considered our needs carefully and designed something we would never have come up with ourselves but it works beautifully. This was a major project and a considerable investment and we are completely happy with how the outside areas work for us. We were tempted to change a couple of design elements but are so glad we didn't. She was spot-on with everything and (three years later) we wouldn't change a thing. Cultivart Landscape Design has got to be the best and most innovative landscape company in Perth, Western Australia. Janine Mendel's designs are original, contemporary and beautiful. While we were designing our home extension, we hired Janine to design a garden that would complement the home. What she came up with was beyond our imaginings and just perfect for what we wanted. We have yet to complete the house, so the garden hasn't even started to be built, so I can't give an idea of the final cost, but Janine designed it so we could construct it in stages as money was available. Good garden design is not cheap, but I think it is worth it!

Janine was refreshing in her professional approach to our project and developed an amazing design which we have been so excited to see evolve! Janine was able to draw out our likes and needs from the garden area and was able to add real interest and enhanced the architectural elements of the home.

We requested a design for the central courtyard of our house. It was a small space - 4x4 alfresco and 4x4 open courtyard. The area is encased by 28 course glass windows and the our neighbour's double storey wall. We opted to trust Janine to provide a single design. She came onsite, took our requirements and we provided references for gardens in her portfolio we liked best. The garden design is amazing! Every plant is flourishing and overall, it has big wow factor which was our major requirement. This garden is the first thing you see when you leave our entry, and everyone comments very positively on it. Day to day, it's the centre piece of our living space and kitchen and we enjoy it day and night.
