After being referred to David (Gumhill Consultants), our initial meeting gave us confidence we had the right man for the job. We were immediately impressed with his extensive experience and knowledge of plants and landscape design. We had specific requirements for tree shading and paving around our house and David’s attention to detail and ability to listen resulted in him creating a layout and planting guide to suit both our requirements and budget. Under David's guidance, Stuart and his great team from Earth Creation Landscapes were well equipped, organised and efficient and did a fabulous job to bring David's design into reality. We are extremely happy with our new garden and would recommend David to anyone who is looking to improve an existing garden or create a new garden to suit their outdoor living needs.

We engaged Gumhill Consultants to install a deck, spa and retaining wall and they had a small area to work with and we wanted class with an element of unique. Our story was listened to, our budget adhered to and the quality of work is second to none. Everyone who comes over admires and comments on how fabulous it looks. David Wood accepted the challenge of working with our Body Corporate Committee to design and supervise the implementation of the first major landscaping renovation and upgrade undertaken since the initial development of our estate over 15 years ago. He approached this task with calm resolve and enthusiasm, focusing on the overall structure of common property landscape and recommending how substantial improvements could be achieved within a reasonable budget. David made a thorough assessment of all existing plantings, identifying areas in need of attention. He provided the committee with a very detailed report, full design drawings and plant lists. He identified shortfalls in the existing structure and provided for new and improved features to enhance the well balanced, cohesive and themed landscape subsequently created. He offered the committee expert guidance in all stages of the project. From the initial consultation to the final steps in the implementation of the plan, David was readily available, giving excellent advice and clear direction in all aspects of this huge undertaking. He recommended contractors, supervised and checked as work proceeded ensuring high quality outcomes. His broad vision, passion for excellence and extensive horticultural knowledge and expertise has given the owners in this complex a beautiful landscape to enjoy and appreciate now and for years to come.

David Wood has helped to build our large garden at our farm on Westernport Bay southeast of Melbourne. He designed the garden, added to it in several stages over 25 years and continues to provide advice land assistance. David is a thorough professional. He has a great sense of the design and configuration that suits both the environment and the owners’ wishes. His knowledge of the plants that will work is first class and his work is of the highest quality. Our garden has drawn high praise from visitors on Open Garden days and our own social events. Created from the remnants of an old garden that fallen into disrepair and extended into adjoining paddocks, it is a joy to spend time in. David is meticulous in his planning and budgeting and provides detailed costings and schedules. He is not cheap, but the quality of the work justifies the expense. On the inevitable occasions when costs are projected to exceed the original budget, there is always a detailed explanation, and of course the option of curtailing some parts. You always know where you stand with David. Since his move to the Sunshine Coast, Gumhill Consultants has been responsible for the platings and maintenance of the planter boxes on the balconies of our apartment in Noosa Heads. Again, we couldn’t be happier with the work.

We are the beneficiaries of much knowledge and care with our landscaping and planting project at our Noosa Heads home. David’s plan, the price, selection of plants, the automatic watering systems on new work and existing lawns has been wonderful. The whole process was efficient and pleasant and done when promised and with a good sense humour, which is impressive these days. I do highly recommend all facets of his work.

We recently engaged the services of Gumhill Consultants Pty Ltd (David Wood) to design our new gardens, assist us with plant selection, and oversee the planting by our landscaper.
