Miles created a private oasis with pool and full landscaping in the rear yard of an historic house that I renovated in Chestertown, MD as well as doing full landscaping design services for a 5 1/2 acre property on Broad Creek in Annapolis, MD. Miles was especially helpful in working with the county government to get me through the extensive permitting process required to build a new house in the Critical Buffer Zone along a body of water in Annapolis. Miles is a total professional with great design skills, knowledge of the industry and ability to get the job done and work with contractors, engineers and architects.”

“DeMichele, Inc. drastically improved our property. They installed a brick front walkway and flagstone steps (with lighting) leading to our front door. They spruced up our portico by capping the wood with siding, adding new columns and a flagstone landing. Also, Belgian blocks were installed along the edge of our driveway. Lastly they provided an excellent design plan and added all new landscaping. Everyone of the staff were wonderful to work with. Elizabeth was very patient with the millions of questions I had and very knowledgeable about the different plant options. The landscaping was done in November and Elizabeth followed up in the spring to make sure all of the plants survived the winter. The crew that did the work, led by Thomas (accent over the a?) were very friendly and did a great job. We are very happy with the final result and would definitely recommend DeMichele. The work included a driveway, walks, two entrances, patio, pond, firepit, retaining walls, stormwater management (two rain gardens and an underground surge tank), site lighting and plantings. “Jennifer recently worked with me to redesign my garden to include a pool and travertine patio surrounded by four raised flower beds. I found her on the internet, and engaged her after an initial conference when it was clear that she had the imagination and skill to work within the constraints of a historic house and a hardheaded gardener determined to hang onto many heritage plants. While there were many subsequent tweaks, we never really varied much from her initial design, because she listened so well that her first design incorporated all that I was looking for. Her design, her selection of materials, and her ability to work everything I wanted to save from my old garden into a rational and symmetrical but informal garden plan are, I am certain, going to win her another award. I then engaged Jen to supervise construction, and that was a good move. She was constantly in touch with the various contractors, often working alongside. When problems arose, she had several solutions ready to present before she told me about the problem. Inevitably things came up that had not been included in the initial budget she had prepared so carefully, but she made me aware all along of choices and their costs, so I never felt sandbagged. Best of all, she stuck to her estimate of major construction costs even when the actual cost must have far exceeded the budgeted amount. I could never have dealt with the various trades as well as she did, lacking both time and knowledge. While I value her design skills, I must say that without her supervision, I know this project would have cost far more, taken much longer, and probably not turned out as well. Jen is now working with me on the interior of the pool house. I simply do not have the time to shop during tax season, and am finding it wonderful to have her do the leg work so that my involvement is limited to choosing from alternatives and writing checks. The pictures she creates enable me to envision choices so easily that I'm looking forward to working with her on other interior projects. At least four of my friends are planning to consult with Jen even though my project is far from finished- my garden in winter is not much to see! I recommend her wholeheartedly. Not only is she skillful- she is delightful to work with. I will post a photo when the project is completed later this year.”

Completed work on time. The designer was at job site almost daily. Great crew that worked all day and cleaned up daily. After 3-4 months of work, we felt that the designer and crew became part of our daily lives and actually miss them working on the yard. I will use this company again to add screened porch to backyard next spring. I would gives six star rating if I could!”
