About Us

The Landscape Department designs and constructs uniquely Melbourne-style outdoor spaces, for Melburnians, by Melburnians. This is not your run-of-the-mill operation. We think beyond the stock standard. We think about curves, textures, shadows, gradients and feeling. We custom design outside spaces that are perfectly suited to the unique architectural styles of Melbourne homes and to the unique needs of our clients.

We had a fantastic experience with TLD. We found them to be highly professional, friendly and easy to communicate with. Brilliant design tailored to our budget and executed beautifully. Nothing felt like it was too much to ask. We are are absolutely thrilled with the end result. Could not recommend TLD highly enough!

Mark and his team created a really wonderful back garden for us and completely 'got' what we were about. A truly professional approach and a can do response to any questions or queries or changes. The finish, and having things just right was just as important to them as the overall construction process. Consulted with us all the way, managed all aspects of linking in other trades when needed and we are *thrilled* with our space. Would not hesitate to recommend TLD!

Mark and his team completed the full landscaping for our new build. From the beginning they were professional and timely. They commenced the job towards the end of our build and were able to work alongside the builders, liaising with us about specific details and ensuring the job remaining on budget. We are thrilled with the result and Mark's knowledge on which plants to use to create the look we were after was invaluable. I would highly recommend Mark and his team.

Working with Mark and Matt to create our entire garden was the best decision we made. The team at The Landscape Department are professional, friendly, prompt and produce exceptional results. We already had a design for our garden, but both Mark and Matt added in their own suggestions to really complete the entire look. Even in the weeks post completion, they pop in to check everything is going well, and always respond to any queries you may have. We have no hesitation recommending The Landscape Department to anyone who needs any type of landscaping done- these guys are the best, you won't regret it!

Commented: Love the treeHi Luekio. This tree is an acer palmatum (japanese maple). There are numerous varieties of palmatum, however this is just the standard variety.

Commented: what is the tree please? Does it go orange in autumn?Hi Cathy. I'm very sorry for the (very) late reply. That is a Japanese Maple. (Acer Palmatum). It changes orange/yellow in colour throughout autumn. One of our favourites.
