We approached Emily earlier this year for help & guidance in transforming our new build, blank canvas & boring rear garden. “A year ago, the garden at our new home was a neglected and overgrown mess, and far beyond my capabilities to bring it back to life. I had found North Leeds Garden Design on a website before we moved to Leeds, and it seemed to offer the sort of services that we were looking for. I asked Sarah Johnson to come and look at the project, and we had further site meetings before she produced a detailed plan for the restoration of the garden. I was particularly pleased that this turned out to be the style of garden that we had discussed with Sarah and not something that she wanted to impose on us. The works included new fencing and the grinding out of shrubs' roots. This part of the project was ably managed by Sarah's husband, George, who runs his own garden maintenance company. The overall outcome has matched our very high expectations, and we feel that the result has given good value for money. “We initially approached Garden Designer Matt Haddon early in 2013 when our house was in the early stages of construction. He very carefully listened to our brief and gave us initial outlying designs, measuring, taking soil samples etc. We had thought that we would use his expertise to plan, design, and layout the new garden (we'd do the work) but we found him so knowledgeable, and amenable that we asked him to do the work for us. The planting is exquisite, we back onto open countryside and we wanted to have an extension of the country feel, making it a haven for birds, bees and nectar loving insects. Matt has done just that, our garden is full of colour, contrast, fruit and all manner of wonderful plants and tress - all carefully chosen for our soil type and aspect. Matt planned the garden with interest all year round and came back in October of this year to finalise next years spring bulbs. I cannot recommend Matt highly enough, our garden has been an investment and wonderful complement to our house. Matt has even left us with a comprehensive plant care plan, so that we know how to care for the plants he has chosen, now whilst we are not amateur gardeners, it is helpful to know sometimes if a particular plant or shrub needs cutting back hard in October or March! We are happy to recommend Matt 100% so if you are looking for garden design in East Yorkshire, or beyond, do give him a call.
