Earth Design's ethos is environmental stewardship through ecological design and education. Our design approach is to encourage our environment to thrive with designs that prioritize natural processes and native species. Earth Design performs environmental assessments, native habitat restoration, site design and regional planning. We hired Earth Design to do both the landscape architecture and the contracting for our yard renovation project. Our goals were to have a yard that is easy to maintain and to have curb appeal. Everyone at Earth Design was easy to work with, and they did their job in a professional manner. The finished project is everything that we had hoped for, and we have received many compliments from neighbors.

Earth Link is an excellent landscape/hardscape company that combines creative designs with high quality workmanship. After assessing our “needs and wants”, Earth Design developed an end-to-end design and work plan that included a large blue stone patio, stone wall, plantings, irrigation and lighting. All of the implementation was done by a single team that worked seamlessly together. Every person on the team worked effectively and importantly was friendly and courteous. After thr project was completed the team was always helpful in answering questions or in returning to make small changes or additions. Extremely pleased with our selection of Earth Design.

They did an excellent job. We had initial meetings to discuss our concepts for the yard, and then provided us with detailed plans and a budget. They were on site daily to oversee the work being done and were always happy to make adjustments as we went along. The end result has been fantastic and we couldn't be more pleased.

Earth Design provided us with a drop dead beautiful design that surpassed anything we had imagined. They worked closely with us to incorporate our ideas and desires and guided us toward budget friendly solutions for landscape challenges. Their installation crew was very experienced, friendly and professional. Best of all, they didn't forget us after we paid the final bill. They quickly fixed things that needed fixing and made good on their plant guarantees.

Earth Design designed and constructed a curved wall, fire pit, stone patio, and surrounding garden. Work was completed in approximately two weeks by skilled stone masons and gardeners. Earth Design's professionals created a beautiful space that we could never have envisioned ourselves. We are planning another landscaping project with Earth Design to be completed in the fall. I will definitely recommend Earth Design to friends.

Earth Design's extensive experience with designing projects around plants native to our area was key in Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission's (LCWSC) decision to select them as our landscape architectural firm for the recent expansion of our Administration building. Native plants are more likely to thrive in our climate and soil conditions. For this reason, they are more disease resistant and can survive our summers without added irrigation. As a water utility that promotes water conservation, especially during periods of drought, this is extremely important to us.

Earth Design helped us introduce native plants in our yard, and constructed raised beds for vegetables, a rain garden, arbor, trellis, and an area for herbs and flowers with flagstones and seating. They are very knowledgeable, creative, and supportive. They completed the work in a timely manner and have been happy to answer questions. We have really enjoyed our "new" yard!

I'm a degreed horticulturist, but Rick's botanical knowledge surpasses that of anyone I've ever personally known. He is truly passionate about his field and extremely well versed in many complementary disciplines. In our work together, Earth Design not only produced a good solution for my project and connected me with other fantastic resources, but did so with great respect for my ideals and with the overall environment foremost in mind. In my opinion, they are personally dedicated to making the world better one project at a time, and you simply can not have a better resource at your disposal.

Rick and his team did a great job of explaining what they thought would solve our drainage problems and other design concerns. They were open to suggestion and were very patient in answering questions. They did their work carefully and made sure they got it right. We have not had trouble with flooding on our drive and their solution is very attractive. His crew helped eliminate invasive, non-native plants. They place a high value on environmental issues. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We contacted Earth Design with the desire to create a roughly 1 acre meadow in an area that over time would be populated with native plants, provide an excellent wildlife habitat, and be fairly low maintenance. Their design was excellent and met our goals for the area. They have been very supportive with advice on how to maintain the area and have made several stops by to monitor progress.

We hired Earth Design in spring 2013 to grade and landscape our backyard for our home near downtown Greenville. We have a small yard with a significant slope and a big tree in it. The wash out was so bad there was literally no top soil left. Not only did Rich and his crew provide a top notch layout for optimum use of the yard, they also installed drainage, put in the hard scape and grading as well as shrubs and plants. It was very important for us to use indigent plant and make optimum use of rainwater - Earth Design did all of that. We love to entertain and we now have ample space to use our yard for guests. My husband is a woodworker and Earth Design incorporated wood arbors and latticework ideas in their design, to help us achieve our goal of not having to fence ourselves while still having our privacy. On top of all that, they hit our budget! I would not use anybody else for landscaping and will definitely use them again for more projects!

Rick, Jesse and the Earth Design team have done a wonderful job transforming our home's landscaping over the last several years. They have listened carefully, offered creative solutions, and executed our plans very cost-effectively. The resulting landscape, while spectacular during the spring and summer, is quite attractive throughout the year. And because a homeowner is never really finished with landscaping and gardening projects, we look forward to our next project with the Earth Design team.
