I cannot recommend Steve highly enough! We engaged him to come up with designs for our indoor and outdoor renovation. He came up with brilliant ideas that were practical, helped us save costs - and he still give us everything on our wish list and more! From the first day I contacted Steve from Concept Studio to date he has been honest, straight forward and excellent to work with. Steve took our 2 bedroom unit and created a family size, 3 BR + Office townhouse with all the requested specifications and all within a very tight budget. Yes, there were times when he said, "Lauren, that's not within your budget", however he would always come back to me with a solution and most of the time a much better outcome. His knowledge of the design/building process, materials and managing all council approvals has been invaluable. I worked with Concept Studio on the design of my three townhouses development in Frankston Vic. This project took far longer than expected, was overcomplicated, it was a total mess from start to finish.

We are extremely lucky to have found Steve and Design Concept to help us to design our new house in Melbourne! If you are looking for a high-calibre, and creative designer, who not only knows what he is doing but will listen to your needs and delight you with the final outcome, then you can’t go wrong with Steve! We have done a number of renovation projects in houses we have lived in but this time we are building a whole new house. While we had a long list of wants and needs, we also knew we were out of our depth and needed serious professional help. We contacted a number of designers who were happy to give us quotes. We had been contemplating a home renovation for at least three years. We wanted the renovation to be as perfect as possible but also within quite a tight budget. But we didn't seem to find someone who shared our vision Recently, browsing the HOUZZ website we happened upon the profile of Concept Studio and Steve. After reading through the Concept Studio website and also the glowing reviews on HOUZZ we decided to contact Steve. It has been one of our better decisions and Steve, the studio and his draftsman Michael have been wonderful to work with. Even though we didn't have much of an idea of costs to build and also final fit outs, we were upfront with Steve as to our budget and expectations. Steve took our ideas on board and offered some fabulous alternatives to some of our fanciful ideas. Steve is a realist with wonderful vision and worked within our budget. We genuinely appreciated Steve's input. It is great to engage with someone who has vast experience in the industry and is client focussed and works collaboratively. None of our questions went unanswered, even if they were trivial. Concept Studios have been patient and very easy to communicate with. There were many little details that we had not considered and perhaps Steve didn't need to bring them to our attention as it wasn't in his scope of works, but he did. With the plans in place we now look forward to our home being transformed into something special. Concept Studios and Steve have been fantastic.

Made initial inquiries regarding authority regulations and requirements. Provided recommendations for the appointment of other specialist consultants as required, including their fees. A great experience & journey to design what we wanted but a little frustrating at times with the slow turnaround for new drawings

Steve is a professional, engaging and consultative individual who is easy to deal with. Not afraid to challenge the thinking of the client and offer alternate approaches and throughs, however is respectful to the client's desires and wishes. Clarity of requirements goes a long way to ensuring that the end to end process is smooth and minimises frustration for both parties. Genuinely extends his services for the benefit of the client. Drafting services are good and amends Plan / Drafting mistakes (as no one is perfect) with limited pushback and delays. Thinks laterally and is able to provide alternatives to design challenges. Steve can suggest / recommend Interior Design, Engineering, Building Surveyor and Joinery Design services, however do your own investigation, as it is your relationship with these associated trades, which matters in the end, not Steve's. Recommended for value for money (investment), as not overpriced.
