“Sunfox Campground in Lisbon CT was seeking to install a heated, zero-depth beach entry pool with an L shaped design, as well as a whirlpool spa. Although I knew many "residential" pool installers, none were able to handle our "commercial" installation...and only some really big companies were willing to provide a quote. Luckily, we came across Dennis and Custom Construction Designs. After a 5 minute conversation, I knew we had found our pool professional, as he understood all the intricacies of our plan. Despite being delayed by some zoning issues, Dennis was ready to start as soon as all permits were in place, and the estimated construction time was very accurate (which was 7-8 weeks for our project). It is rare to find your pool contact person is on the job site so frequently with his crew. We got to know his staff, and they were always willing to help tweak plans as the installation progressed. He also allows you to determine which components of your pool plan should be handled by his company, or by any preferred contractors you might have (in terms of landscaping, deck options etc). We chose a gunite pool and a stamped concrete deck, and he offered a few options for deck and fence companies. We discussed all potential upgrades, from filter systems to lighting and pool surfacing, and he was up front about any added costs of those options. Whenever I woke up in the middle of the night with some unfounded concern, he always responded to my early calls or texts. He is familiar with all aspects of the pool industry, and knows where to get answers for any questions that may be unique. Take your time when selecting your pool installer, as any salesperson can sell you a pool...but will they be the one you call if you have any questions? We strongly recommend Dennis Sullivan and Custom Construction Designs for any pool installation or upgrade.”

“We recently purchased our home, and contracted with Proper Ph for opening and weekly maintenance of our pool. We had them furnish and install a new Aquacal heat pump, and re-locate all of the pool equipment, moving it about 25 ft to it's new location. They did a great job of getting everything done, and the communication with their office is really great. They are really on top of everything, and do excellent work. They do tend to be a substantially higher in price than other companies, but you will be guaranteed to have a great experience.”

“I really enjoyed working with the team at Harbor Hot tubs, Ian and Doug Sullian in particular. Very helpful and responsive in the upfront process, did a great job of finding the right product to fit my specific wants/needs (outdoor sauna, sturdy yet portable, high quality but priced right). They did an on site pre- installation survey, and the build/installation went very smoothly at a fair price. But the TRUE measure of a relationship with a Vendor reveals itself when u have a problem. And we did run into some funky issues that were tough to troubleshoot. Rather than sending me to the MFG and hiding behind their warranty, they rolled up their sleeves, provided on site testing and trouble shooting, identified the problem(s) and provided no charge parts and labor to resolve. Doug and Ian stayed personally involved and connected thru the process, and they and their firm have truly earned this sincere endorsement.”

“Total Pool and Spa designed and built our free-form pool. They developed a clearly depicted design which we co-created and executed it beautifully. The project came in at budget and within the time frame which they had indicated. The job was quite intricate and required Total Pool & Spa to draw on additional resources such as for the landscape design, stone work, and construction of the pool house. In all cases these trade people were extremely proficient and very professional. The total effect of the pool makes it appear as if you came upon a hot spring. It begins as a stream, then feeds into the hot tub, which in effect fills up and spills over in a waterfall into the pool itself. Total Pool incorporated an island, a bridge, (which has water breaking over it) and the free-formed pool itself. Total Pool and Spa did an absolutely outstanding job! Total Pool also performs the maintenance on the pool. They are dedicated to keeping it beautiful and are extremely responsive to any problems that occur. From May through October, my family lives at the pool. We’ve since added other elements such as a beautiful stone island to provide cooking space and a flat screen TV. It really is our sanctuary!
