“The Little House
For 30 years I had ideas of building a small, sustainable house for my retirement and had various architects sketch conceptional plans. Atelier Chung was able to take these early ideas and transform them by reincarnating them in contemporary form and then marrying them with the environment on my plot overlooking Kedron Brook in Brisbane. The result was beyond my expectations: high functionality, energy efficiency, sound but unobtrusive security and a very contemporary award-winning look in concrete, glass and timber. Its residents feel it to be spacious and open but its footprint - a mere 45 sqm.”

“From our very first contact with Wayne it was clear we had found the right person to help us achieve our goal of taking a property that many thought should have been knocked down to something that is not only beautiful but has maintained the original character of the Burleigh Heads area.
Wayne was able to help us achieve all of the projects requirements which included renovating the existing apartments to a high standard and adding more space in the form of a 3 bedroom apartment to the existing building while still maintaining the beach house characteristics of the original building but in a modern form.
Wayne was involved with all aspects of our project including initial design, selection, documentation, planning, building supervision and interior fit out.
As with all projects challenges present along the way and none so much as when both a renovation and new build are tackled at once. At all times we were particularly impressed with Wayne's sensitivity to the current building and its location as well as his problem solving abilities and time taken to work through these with both ourselves and the builder. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
A year on we are still impressed by what has been achieved as are many more who are now enjoying the property through Holiday rental. Thanks Wayne this could not have been achieved without your involvement and we hope it inspires others.”

“Nives created a beautiful design for the renovation and extension of our home in Paddington. Her knowledge and experience has allowed us have a finished design which will lead to a lovely spacious home for our family to enjoy.
Due to budgetary and timing constraints (arrival of our 3rd child), we had to split our project into 2 stages. The first stage was the addition of a much needed large rear deck and re-configuration of the front entrance to our house - both of which have completely changed how we live in our home. The second stage of our project, which we hope to start this year, will be to raise the existing house, creating a parents' retreat, family living and dining areas flowing to the deck, and building 3 bedrooms, lounge, bathroom and laundry space downstairs on a new level. We are really looking forward to this next stage!
We would strongly recommend Nives. We hired her after seeing the finished products of other projects she worked on for friends - and we will certainly use her again with our next project.”
