“Helen W. Alameda, August 2016 I am very satisfied with the work SRS did for me. I lived in another house for 30 years, I had two roofs installed and they lasted approximately 15 years each. This is the first time I used SRS at my current residence and I have a feeling this roof may last twice as long as the last ones. The previous roofers were in and out in about a couple of weeks more or less. I really didn’t know what was going on then except that the new roof looked good. I paid for a new roof and that is what I got. The SRS job took longer to finish, but it seems I got more value for what I spent with their detailing. They did extra work tearing off additional layers of roofing, they completed extensive dry rot and carpentry work at the roof perimeter that was needed and installed extra flashings to prolong the life of some adjacent beams. The thing that separates SRS from the previous roofers is that Kasra, the owner of SRS, would explain everything to me daily on his job. He worked side by side with the roofers to insure everything was done correctly. He would regularly point out areas of concern on my roof. I could take care of it now, do it myself, hire them to do it or just catch it later. He also stated the pros and cons of delaying the work. My feeling is this is my house and I want to know how and when to take care of it. The best suggestion he made was to install a skylight in the garage and a sun tunnel in the darkest area of the house. In hindsight, I should have gotten these two items done years ago and now I cannot live without having free solar lighting. If you want a roofer who can explain everything to you when necessary then Sustainable Roofing Solutions is who you want for your next roofing job.”

I am so impressed with the work they accomplished last week - in just 2 days they finished the roof on my 2-story house (2200 sq ft) - just before the rains began (and just before we went into total lock-down due to COVID-19). it looked like a ballet on the top of my house - the crew moved deftly, swiftly and consistently. I am grateful for their diligence, competence and hard work. brian, the owner, has certainly hired a tremendous crew! as an aside, I also hired another co to install solar panels, once the roof was completed. knowing this, brian then proactively sent his guys back out to my home afterwards to do some light repair work caused by the solar installation. so kind of them. regarding cost - I got estimates from 7 different companies (I'm a touch OCD...). they were not the cheapest, but were the 2nd least expensive firm. and besides a modest down payment ($700), they charged me nothing until the full project was completed. their other glowing reviews are absolutely true. “After exhaustive research, we found this wonderful craftsman, Ray Kroeck, to install the roof of our dream house. We interviewed 5 or 6 "slaters" in northern California, and found none (except Ray) who were not only knowledgeable about the craft, but also honest enough to give us a roof that would last a lifetime. Throughout repeated problems with not only the General Contractor, but also with the importer of the Chinese slate, Ray Kroeck represented us, the homeowner, in an attempt to get us our 300 year roof. His work is old school, he represents a pride of ownership in his work, and gives this lost art a shot at the future. Not sure what will happen when artists like Ray Kroeck are no longer available. We are looking to Ray for consultation and hopefully installation at an alpine compound we are developing near Tahoe.
