“I worked with Mark Wang from Designs Autralia to design and create a new kitchen. Mark visited and consulted with me over a period of weeks while together, we panned the outcome I was hoping for. He provided drawings and samples of materials and answered all my phone calls and inquiries with patience and professional expertise. I was extremely happy with the result, both with the artistic outcome which was beyond even my best expectations, and with the overall quality of the cabinetry he provided. I would recommend him very highly on all aspects of the work. He is not only extremely experienced, but he is a principled person ready to take full responsibility if the work fell in any way short of his promise. He was courteous and friendly and a pleasure to work with - he took all the stress and worry out of the project for me and I had the bonus of enjoying my own ideas mediated by his extremely good taste and superior knowledge. Mark stayed in touch from beginning to end and remained engaged with each stage of the project. “My wife and I spent many months looking for the right display TV unit for our lounge room. We had removed a fireplace and had a fixed space to work with and no one except Ambrose Furniture could or would spend the time and effort working with us to give us exactly what we needed. The attention to detail was excellent and the end result was just right. We met many times, the guys did numerous 3D renders, specs and quotes as we continued to massage it to meet our needs. We even met the foreman of the factory at certain stages just to ensure everyone was on the same page. We also required a couple of shelves to be adjustable and to have some strip lighting to a couple of our feature items. They sourced this and routed a couple of channels under the lip so that the strip could not be seen at all. The lighting consultant they used, Life LED Lighting was also very flexible and knowledgeable. We are now having a coffee table (with a shelf below), designed and built by Ambrose as it seems yet again, what we want, which is quality solid timber in the stain we want, just is not available in the general furniture market. Just as an aside, we had previously had Ambrose Furniture build 2 dining tables of different lengths but the same width so we could butt them up for big family occasions. This was many years ago, so we were very happy to find that they had not gone out of business, just relocated to New Farm.”

“We recently needed to search for a replacement mattress, and we don't live far from the store, so we dropped in. The staff at Strictly Comfort were amazing. The first time we dropped in, we were also considering a couch, so we sat on all sorts of couches for about 30 minutes. During that time, the staff made themselves available but didn't hover. They just answered any questions we had and faded back into the store again. We knew where to find them and they had an air of helpfulness about them that meant that we felt comfortable asking of them as they bustled about doing this and that. After we were done considering couches, we sought advice on our mattress problem. Adam, the manager of the store, chatted with us about our issues until we had to run off to another appointment. For an unrelated reason to do with my business, I left a business card. A day later, I received a detailed email further drilling down into our mattress issues that was neither pushy nor unwelcome. It was incredibly helpful. Adam had listed what to look for in a mattress irrespective of where we went to do so. A big fan of customer service done right, we returned to the store and tried out all of the mattresses on offer, using the detailed list Adam had provided as a guide. Again, during our hour or more trying out mattresses "properly" (just ask Adam about that), the staff made themselves available but did not bother us once. Strictly Comfort helped us find a superior replacement for our mattress and we have never had better comfort or a better customer service experience. Friendly, honest and considerate, these people deserve all the stars.”

“We saw a very long chesterfield in an hotel in the main street of the Hobart CBD and the workmanship on such a large ( I guess about an 11 person version) leather chesterfield and that was our decision maker for ordering what we wanted from within Australia as this allows for a chesterfield that has not been sprayed by customs with formaldehyde which is not a good health prospect. We arranged for a 3 seater chesterfield with special visual adjustments to be commissioned and also shipped our 2 Jason recliners to be recovered in the same leather and to match in the same design and the workmanship was absolutely excellent and although it took longer to be finished than we expected the final result was worth our patience. The long distance removal and delivery of the finish product was arranged in a timely manner and the fees they obtained form the carrier were also excellent. Buy Australian and keep the home fires burning. Have no hesitation in highly recommending.”

It's also great to be able to visit his showroom and workshop to see first hand finished products. I've had several works by Colin including cabinetry requiring sliding doors, opening doors, lift up doors and shelving. One of the works required a fireplace installation and lighting. The projects have not only enhanced the rooms but function seamlessly. The latest work by Colin was a dining table, I won't hesitate to engage Colin for my next project.”

We knew we wanted something a bit different for our new home’s rooftop terrace. From the consultation and design phase, to the delivery and installation of the lounge, Susan and Mike from One Tree Studio were fantastic! Susan met with me to consult on design ideas. Her suggestions considered the layout and dimensions of our space, as well as the westerly aspect. Their communication regarding what to expect (a computer generated design was drawn up), time frame, payment options and delivery was seamless. The finished product is a perfect construction of our ideas. It is only now awaiting the arrival of the cushions, so that we can start to enjoy relaxing and entertaining on our terrace.
