Modern-style blinds might be functional and inexpensive, but their corporate feel leaves them lacking. Curtains and drapes such as ours are fantastic for more personalized decoration, whether to cover up or decorate pre-existing blinds, or on their own as window decorations that enhance your privacy and control of light entering your home. There’s a reason that blinds are so cheap: they’re made from hundreds, if not thousands of chemicals including PVA, PVC and BPA—and the health consequences of having these chemicals around us is not yet known, or beginning to be correlated, as with asthma and acrylic-backed fabrics. If you have a young family or, place great importance on your health, using natural fibres is advisable—not only is the material more attractive, there are no known health issues. At drapeCo, we offer a range of linens and cottons. If blocking light is a primary consideration, our triple-weave lining is chemical-free (no coating) and provides powerful dimming. We also provide block out and translucent linings, depending on your needs. We categorically do not use acrylic-backed curtain fabrics, instead using a cotton/polyester mix and 100% non-acrylic room darkening lining.
