Review for Vidal Design Collaborative
Working with the whole Design Vidal team has been an absolute pleasure. I would absolutely recommend them for your home project. Over the course of a year's+ worth of work, our very nice, but bland Silver Lake home that we were outgrowing became an exciting dream home for our family of 5. Because of Design Vidal our 3 bd, 2.5 bath became a very tasteful (in no way McMansion) 5 bd, 4 bath with a new master bedroom, a massive open kitchen (as opposed to the tiny galley we had before), a useable and more sustainable backyard and a wonderful pool. Amazing stuff.
My wife and I always knew our project would be challenging. We were trying to figure out what we wanted and how we could do a big renovation once rather than doing it in incremental steps. Karen and Guy made this process a breeze. They managed every detail of the project very closely and ensured that it turned into exactly what we wanted. They also worked well within our timeline and helped us keep track of the project's costs, with the goal of keeping us on budget. We had a big project, which forced us to move out of our house, and we were able to get back in when we wanted and to keep it as close to budget as humanly possible.
We have zero complaints about our architect and contractors, which is a testament to Guy and Karen too. The people they work with are all top-notch professionals. I think we are some of the few people we know who have done remodeling and cannot say a bad word about our general contractor. Karen and Guy made the difference. For all of the work in our home, they solicited bids for us and, with their help, made sure to get the right people. Karen and Guy also helped us navigate the city permitting bureaucracy, doing all the heavy lifting and making sure piece of construction we did was permitted and legal. Having project managers like the Vidals is extremely important and made our hectic lives much less so.
On the overall design, the look of the place, and the finishings, Karen absolutely rocked it. Her taste is impeccable and she always has suggestions on furniture, wallpaper, art, rugs, lighting and every design element you can think of (and more). But what sets her apart is her ability to get a sense of the client's taste, move in that direction, and come up with ideas and solutions that you would never think of.
Karen and Guy are always accessible and helpful. They beautifully realized our home project, navigated us through tough times and were consummate professionals throughout the process.
