I’ve missed you Amy! ❤️ As always you are creative and very generous with your talent-- lucky friend!

Awww... thank you Kswl!!!! This group has always been so positive and incusive. Such a lovely virtual family that I have missed!

Ohh i like that pink sweater, too. Nice colors.
Still thinking about WTW to my charity gala first w/e of October.
I bought this navy St.John knit jacket in a thrift store and have yet to wear it. It is very flattering on, but I cannot figure out what to pair it with. Feeling smug because I paid $44 in pristine condition (like most dressier items) and it originally retailed for $1145 (there is one NWT showing that price on PM).
(not me)

Meantime I bid aggressively and got this on Ebay for $22. I have the same one in periwinkle gingham but it is too large. Retails for $340.

If you like the idea of a sleevesless top under the bolero. NicobLu has some very pretty halters.

That model’s hair looks a lot like mine.
Yes, I looked for a model that reminded me of you and asked Chatgpt to use her in the mockups!
BTW, your fault I bought this top today, No idea what I will do with it but I have liked it for a while and it was on PM for $375 down from $725. I bought it for $150.

Some years ago, Sister cleaned a bunch of stuff out of their garage and piled it to one side to be hauled off. Afraid that her DH would see it and want to keep some of the stuff, she had me help her throw it all in their van and race to Goodwill with it before her husband got home. The next time he went to play golf, we discovered that his set of clubs was part of what we had quickly thrown in the van and hauled off. It didn’t hurt his feelings to get to go buy new…and my sister could not say one word about it! 😂

Went through all the under sink areas at the lake place before moving stuff in from the other house. Threw a few unneeded dupes in the trash. Movers move everything here on Thursday so the real fun begins then. Hope to get much of the consolidation done before we leave on Sept 25. There is a lot of extra, unneeded stuff when you consolidate two homes into one. I have a few extra furniture items I hope to unload on FBM.

So yesterday I sent out this APB to the family.( click to read)

I just hope, having slept on it, that they don't flake on me.

Love seeing your work!
Have you thought about doing figures positioned to the side with a suggestion of a face? I have three close friends who like to paint and are talented and they never do portrait faces. But they will paint someone from behind or to the side and insert them in a scenery painting.
Example found online, not a friend's painting.

I am also planning a fall trip to Europe and expecting lots of walking in the rain. I haven't purchased this yet, so I can't speak to the fit yet, but I am looking at the Helly Hansen Aden long rain jacket. I'm thinking of getting black, but thought the details were more visible in this pink color.

I'm also looking for comfortable shoes that will hold up in wet weather. Found these cut On Cloud 6 waterproof sneakers and Blundstone chelsea boots.

I think I have some REI rain pants somewhere that I bought for backpacking. I'd just go to a sporting goods store and try some on until you find a pair that fits.

I think this weekly thread helps us stay on course when we see others having the occasional struggles too.
Yes, and thank you for that!
But that's just life. Years ago life's vicissitudes and sometimes associated suboptimal food choices would have sent me "off the wagon." But there is no wagon, and it's all good. If you feel yucky, you course adjust a bit. No biggie.
Probably 20 yrs ago I painted a plate at one of those pottery places and hidden in among the flowers I painted on it was my goal weight. I think I threw it out 10 years ago. Spolier alert - it did not work. This morning, I am at my "plate weight."
And a NSV, too. (IYKYK) Last year I bought this Zara suit in navy. The jacket stayed belted to hide the fact that the pants were too tight. I took it out to wear to a conference next week, and now I will need the jacket to stay belted to hide the fact that the pants are too big. I may have to choose something else. I loved this suit and still do.

Update: The ibuprofen started my stomach hurting so I had to quit that too. Good news is I am now able to go without pain meds. The shooting/stabbing pains have stopped and I have just a slight headache and/or discomfort on that side. Scalp is still tender to the touch. A hint of rash is still visible on my face and into my scalp, but it is so much improved. It's not yet been 4 weeks, so I'm hoping this outcome is due to my being vaxed and getting the anti-virals quickly.

Such a simple outlook can make a world of difference. I always feel better when I am upbeat. If you give in to misery, it just wrecks everything even worse. Not always possible to be cheerful of course, but a good reminder to try....
Coincidentally just yesterday I was chatting with 2 friends. One guy has a bff who has been battling shingles for months. He still can't go for their morning walks, it hurts too much. He never got the vax.. The other guy volunteered that he has never been vax'ed for it either. He doesn't "believe" in them. I just said, the diseases sure believe in you. 🤷♀️
I don't understand. It is like not believing in gravity or something. It baffles me.
So glad you are improving Annie, and I too am sure you've had a milder course due to prior good decisions.

I’m very glad to hear that you are continuing to improve, Annie. Here’s hoping that it is soon a distant memory.

Early church and breakfast at golf club outfit (both places are freezing). This shirt has a beaded crest on the left breast and our priest saw it when I shook hands with him on the way out. He said it looked just like a bishop’s mitre and thought it was some kind of ecclesiastical shirt. I was kind of mortified and blurted out—inanely—no, no, it’s just Ralph Lauren up to his usual cultural appropriation! 😳

DH bought me an early bday gift in Revelstoke — we visited a local artist’s shop. Way better than a souvenir t-shirt! The stone is blue topaz.

Then from a local farmers market…a silver and peach moonstone ring.

Do we have a September edition yet?

No, I haven’t died and gone to heaven.
But I did get out for a little walk before we left Lake Moraine and good thing! Look at that scenery!
We are at our next stop and I am feeling human again. I am gonna kick a$$ in Vancouver! 🤣

Just catching up here before its a new week. Sueb I hope you have bounced back and enjoy Vancouver. That picture is cute. Cant tell you’re not feeling well.
I feel fine and am looking forward to the end of this hot humid rainy summer. Seems like its been going on forever. The local kids dont go back to school until the 8th and 9th.
I am having end of summer food struggles! Tomatoes, peaches and sweet corn are at their peak. Of course I love all of them in their most high calorie forms.
Im still gaining then losing the same 2.5 pounds.
C, thats an amazing story and quite a trip. I could not ride a bike around the block, even in 2012. Actually I did ride a bike around the top of the wall surrounding Lucca, Italy. Forgot about that.
Sue, I remember enjoying Granville Market and Stanley park in Vancouver. I loved that city. We stayed in Kitsilano.
Pal, that’s awful, like adding insult to injury.
As for weight struggles, I remember a comment about wishing you weighed the same as the first time you thought you were fat!
Anyway, thats it for me. Ill be getting my flu and covid shots in another month or so. I have a bunch of checkups coming up. Hate them all but I do it.

Big milestone for me this morning. I have a series of "100 goals." 100 countries (check), 100 Pulitzer winners (check), 100 Nobel Prize winners, even 100 Good Deeds (though tracking those somehow seems not in the spirit, but I digress).
Last September I joined a gym and started doing weight training with a trainer. My goal was to go 100 times, but I didn't even set a time limit. Just 100 times, whenever, and if I wanted to, after that I could quit.
At first, I only went when my trainer's schedule meshed with mine, and that was sometimes only every other week! Then last May I decided I wanted to hit 100 sessions within a year of when I started, so I upped my sessions by going myself and or with DH. Today, 3 weeks early, I reached 100 1hr sessions!
And of course, I also added in spin, which is now a 3x a week habit for me. I habit stack it with going to a fave grocery store in the same complex.
TBH, I don't think it has had as much of an impact on weight or even size. The biggest impact is I sleep so well and have become more of a morning person (given when spin classes are most frequent). I also do it for heart health and energy.
Going forward, my intent is to do strength or cardio every other day.
The thing about goals, is just having them is a step, right? It gets you headed in the right direction.
Glad I met my 100 goal, as I am now down for the count for a bit! I got up to turn off the A/C and prompty fainted. I woke up when I hit the ground. Thankfully I am just bruised but it's pretty darn ouchy.
I will discuss with my Dr. but pretty sure it is due to my hypotension. I was lucky to never have high blood pressure even at my heaviest, and now at my lower weight I tend to have low blood pressure. Dr. says there is no need to treat but I should sit for a bit before I jump out of bed. I also may not have been hyrdating enough.
Glad you’re ok! Yes, get that checked out, just for peace of mind.
