I agree with Emily that the chairs can work with the sofa. (I like the blue, actually, if you want to go that direction with colors.)

Here is a floor plan for the room with the Dillon sofa and the blue recliners. (I looked up the dimensions.) It shows both rectangular and round tables by the sofa, so you can see which you like better.

Notice that the limitation regarding the chairs is not so much their width as their depth. They probably won't be able to recline much, if at all. As long as the footrests rise first, independent of the backs' tilt, occupants can still have their feet up. If you want the backs to move too, you could try turning the chairs a little straighter than shown and sliding them outward, so they could perhaps recline into the space between the tables and the side walls..

The blue line is a 5x7 rug, which fills the space between sofa and TV console exactly, but doesn't go under any furniture. The dashed line is a 6x9, as recommended by Emily. To my eyes, the 6x9 is better because the fronts of the seats are on it. People in the chairs have their feet on the rug rather than right on the edge of it. But that's your call.

The smaller chair I showed (with the wood arms) was drawn in by AI; it's not an actual product. I did a very quick search for something similar, but didn't find anything as graceful. Maybe a more thorough search would find something better.

I found this swivel recliner on Wayfair that could perhaps work for the window-side chair. I like the lower back than most recliners have (check that it would be comfortable for your six-footers, though). I do wish the arms were a little wider and the fabric had more texture. (It does in one of the photos.) I like that the swivel ring doesn't show much in this picture, but it shows more in others. It's so hard to tell online exactly what you're getting!

As far as the more open, wood-armed chair for the entry side, I like the shape of the blue one better than the tan one. The high back wouldn't be my preference, but if you want recliners, high backs are hard to avoid.

I have found that Pottery Barn has several stylish swivel recliners with high backs. If you have a store close by you may want to check them out.

I put a live seat facing fireplace wall. It has a faux “entrance with bookcase making wall to right of door. The front door swings the wrong way but too expensive to change so we make it help with arrangement. A pair of 12” x 12” cubes for propping up feet or setting a tray for a cup of fav beverage. A slide gender sofa table for extra set down space or a book or snack. A small scale swivel chair in the window corner would add guest seating. The other corner I put a big doggie bed. But another small scale chair would work too. I put a couple baskets on bottom of bookcase by the door for quick stowing of shoes etc. A small half round piece on the shirt wall of dining room with a mirror above would bounce more light around your room. The lines with arrows represent “traffic flow” and while a bit tight, you would adapt quickly. A small round drink table sits beside the chair in window corner. Love seat would be slim line 58-60” long x 38” deep. I didn’t review other ideas but in scanning I didn’t see this option. Each square equals one square foot.

If I'm remembering correctly...this thread was done a # yrs ago? I like the couch either way. Facing fp or window(back) Is the front door used daily? Doe u need shoe storage? It can be placed near window & behind couch.

I’m so gad you’re happy with how it looks. I wouldn’t think twice about the closet doors. It’s an easy installation (once,these ding-dongs get it right) and doesn’t interfere with other parts of the house.
It’s all looking quite elegant. I love the glass shelves in the bathroom. They’re different from “standard” ones. The hooks seem fine. You’ll like them if they hold your robes and regret them if your towels fall off too easily. But they’re pretty!

I have real Taj Mahal quartzite counters, and slab backsplashes over the stove under upper cabinets, and lower ones under windows. We went to the Granite Place in Burlington, MA and then the owner of Onyx, Marble and Granite in Framingham, MA helped us select which pieces would go where. I love the dramatic yet subtle movement of the stone over the stove. 😁

Though you can use the counter material as your backsplash to embrace the large-format-backsplash concept you don't have to. You can use a large-format material on your entire wall, including the backsplash, and use a coordinating material on the counter.

Really lovely. We had a landscape designer give us similar feedback about "getting out into your yard" vs being on a patio right next to the house and just looking out at the space. It was such great input (and design!) - and this example here is next level! Hope the homeowners love it.
