What is the distance between the shelves? - I'm hoping that I can leave an existing wall phone in place and that it will fit between the shelves.

What is the distance from the desk surface to the shelf above it? - I want to make sure that my laptop would fit on the desk surface. I need 10" for the laptop to be open on the desk. Thank you.
