research reveals this to be granite. Virginia Black Satin, a black granite with faint swirls of white that has a textured matte finish. With what we think is a "cabin grade" white oak. AL: Yes, I discovered that as well re granite. I'm happy to do the more economical option that gets us close to this for countertops (quartz v granite). I was looking at a 'honed' finish in granite when I was sleuthing around. Probably similar to what you're suggesting. SY: yes. They may be close in cost.
