The immersive, Dolby Atmos sound system in this cinema highlights an array of powered Meyer Sound speakers. The Zene Private Theater team dedicated circuits to each of the LCR speakers and the subwoofers. The integrator installed resilient, flexible walls on top of the original concrete to flatten bass response and used QuestAi acoustical panels to help control reflections in this retrofit.
Additionally, the HVAC main unit was installed behind the ceiling. The ceiling drywall blocks its operation noise. Zene Private Theater placed a noise reduction tube in the middle of the air duct to reduce the hissing noise. They used a lot of rubber pads during the installation to isolate the LCR and two subs from the baffle wall. A Sony projector coupled with a 183" Screen Excellence viewing surface provides the 4K images.
The client was heavily involved in the look of the room, and to ensure that aesthetics, audio, and video were all top quality (and within budget), Zene Private Theater met with the general contractor early and often — and those meetings were a bit long. As a result, the client wound up with an award-winning cinema in the time allotted to Zene Private Theater for the entire installation: A mere two months!
