CLIFTON BEACH HOUSE
What was that? The block is only 10m wide? That’s right… The block is only 10m wide!
This elegant yet bold home was designed for a professional couple with eclectic taste to suit an extremely narrow and steep site located in the northern seaside village of Clifton. The design brief centred on maximising the views of the South Pacific whilst maximising privacy. Completed in 2016, privacy was achieved through the placement of windows and verandas toward the rear of the site stretching over the ocean. Though challenging, the steep slope was overcome through an engineer-focussed design, resulting in the extension of living spaces onto decks atop the sea.
