Kooroork House II
Designed and built for the architect's growing family, Lucas Hodgens' Kooroork House II is located in a tranquil bush setting in Junortoun, 10 minutes east of Bendigo. With a sustainable focus and a restricted budget, this house exemplifies his desire to create imaginative containers for living. A concept based on ‘making camp’ drove the conceptual design, the central space where the family comes together to eat and socialize around the fire is flanked by 4 rooms of flexible proportions allowing for a series of different uses. At only 160 square metres, this house highlights how family homes on a budget are possible without compromising on sustainable and design aspirations.
