A GRACIOUS GRANDE OLD LADY– BUILT IN 1908 “BONA VISTA HOMESTEAD”

Welcome to “Bona Vista Homestead” and the memories of a bygone era.

In the early 1900’s the original land area covered from Brown Park to Morrison Rd and operated as a dairy farm which supplied the Black Boy Hill Army Training Camp. The stables housed Clydesdale horses for carting the dairy products up the hill to the army camp. This World War 1 era built home was well known to many of our great grandparents and the brave men and women who gave service to our country. The coal fireplace that you see in the property today, burned continuously in Mr Hancock’s latter years.

This Grande Old Lady now sits proudly on a 922m2 block and anyone who has ever owned a character home will tell you the sense of responsibility they feel, not as owners, but as caretakers of such a gift. Built by Samuel Herbert Hancock and his wife Flencaina – they raised 6 children here and let’s hope the sound of laughing children once more rings out from 414 Morrison Rd as this gracious grande old lady on the hill is sold.
