The brief was to make the existing place brighter and lighter and to generally refresh the key living and service spaces. The existing house had simple planning arrangements but was clearly in need a facelift, suffering from cork flooring and some living areas receiving little natural light. The design of the renovation started by removing some key walls and inserting windows and doors so more natural light could come through deep into the living areas.
