This was a kitchen renovation of a 20+ year old kitchen which we turned from a dark, enclosed rabbit warren into a light-filled and functional space. We stole some space from the adjoining laundry and put in large bi-fold doors opening out onto the deck. We also added the pressed tin ceiling, and splashback, and contrasted with white Ceasarstone benchtops and gloss white cabinets. We added recycled rustic timber to the front of the island to add character, texture and warmth. The result is that the kitchen feels almost double the previous size and is fresh, light and functional with a very rustic, industrial vibe.
