Contemporary Queenslander

Seduced by city and mountain views, a Brisbane family moved into this Queenslander with one thing in mind – to renovate it and make it their own.

Our clients came to us with a dream to renovate the kitchen, living room, master ensuite, powder room and laundry of their Alderley Queenslander. They disliked the dated look of the house which predominantly featured red and beige. They wanted to modernise the look and to create an interior with a contemporary feel that reflected the typical Queenslander exterior.

Resolving these dislikes for our client was our #1 objective, which would guarantee we transformed their house into the home they had always dreamt about.

Outcome:

We listened to our clients and created an open plan space with a stunning black and white kitchen being the focal point and an adjoining walk in pantry and study nook tucked away, making this a modern and sophisticated space with abundant natural light.
We accomplished this transformation by knocking down a dividing wall, existing pantry and storage cupboard, and installing a new larger pantry and study nook. The master bathroom, powder room and laundry were given a complete update creating fresh, contemporary spaces consistent with the rest of the home. The builder did an amazing job, bringing to life the renovation designs and making our clients extremely happy. The final stage was to decorate the home adding to the clients’ existing pieces and bring a sense of style and sophistication to the newly completed home. We selected artwork and décor featuring nature with pastel hues to add a softness to the neutral palette throughout.

The outcome is a home that is as amazing for everyday living as it is for entertaining.
