Situated on a 1000m2 allotment with rural views to the north west, this charming cottage is the first home for a newly married couple. With limited funds, it was decided to create a simple design utilising the views and prevailing breezes to keep the home cool, bright and airy. We used the sloping block to its best advantage and designed a double garage and large laundry under the house with an internal staircase to link the garage with the main house above. The height and design of the whole structure lends itself to easily build in extra rooms when funds permit.
Typically design and drafting costs for a project like this would be in the vicinity of $3,000 - $4,000.
