Country House Kitchen, Dorset

A painted kitchen for a classical house in Dorset. The kitchen is situated on the upper ground floor and sits under an impressive lantern. The furniture needed to blend into the classical detail of the building, so we chose a ‘simple estate joinery’ style with recessed panels and stopped chamfer details on the doors. The distance between the scullery and sink has been shortened by splitting the island in two.

Primary materials: Hand painted furniture in an oil based egg shell finish. Honed Carrara marble worktops. Locally quarried stone for the chimney piece surrounding the Aga.
