East Melbourne - Apartment
The clients, keen entertainers, wanted custom joinery designed for their living room that would be uniformed and the centerpiece of the interior. A bar and entertainment unit/desk was to be designed based on the inspiration we took from a piece of existing furniture, the Humes Steiner Bow Wood Chair.
The design vision was to restore and utilise the chair for the desk chair of the entertainment Unit desk design. The inspiration for the joinery design was taken from the bent wood legs to form the design inspiration of the curved floating shelves, as well as the brass leg detail. The apartment with a neutral palette, required joinery to add depth and contrast with the living space. The brass material became the initial material to work with along with the clients love of teal/blues.
