FPA Residence

In this heritage building erected in 1901, this apartment was transformed from an office space into a chic city pied-à-terre.
The large studio style space was filled with architectural detail and character that had to be respected, and acted as a contrast to the contemporary furnishings.

The combined living/dining space is anchored by a plush silk rug that acts as a canvas on which to place pieces from European design houses including the Moroso 'Redondo' armchair and Lune sofa from Fritz Hansen. A pair of dramatic crystal table lamps act as a focal point and frame the fireplace when viewed from the dining sapce.

A curated selection of contemporary art (all by Australian artists) is arranged in an art-studio style way with pieces resting on the floor and on the fireplace mantel.

A bold marble dining table and accompanying 'Saamen' chairs use their sculptural forms to contrast the clean white walls and aged original flooring.

The bedroom features entirely Australian made furniture that was custom designed in-house. The four-poster smoked timber bed contrasts against the highly polished veneer bedside tables that feature smoked bronze and Calacatta Vagli marble.
