The kitchen is the hub of this modern family home and the brief called for a high spec with plenty of ‘wow’ features to impress!
The clients are big entertainers and as this often happens ‘around the kitchen bench’ wanted the bench to be able to accommodate casual entertaining and family meal times. The solid timber raised bench top functions perfectly as an entertainment/dining area and the lowered granite bench enables food preparation to be done by the hosts whilst chatting with their guests.
The clients chose the bold feature colour, and the solid oak timber raised bench top and granite stone top soften the impact of the lime green. The feature drawers at the front of the island are electric push to open and have been custom built to house wine glasses and tumblers. The blue LED lighting is an added extravagance!
The kitchen side of the island bench also features an electric push to open drawer for the waste bins.
The rear bench top houses the gas Miele cook top and is finished in a practical stainless steel. The drawer banks run the length of the kitchen beneath this bench and a feature mirrored glass toe kick adds the illusion of space to the floor.
Storage was an important aspect of the design, so a large step-in pantry was created in the corner to house the microwave and other small appliances along with ample space for food supplies.
A wine fridge and utility nook for keys and knickknacks had to be included. The Hafele 150mm pull out pantry nestles next to this and is perfect for bottle storage.
The resulting kitchen is stunning and vibrant and the clients couldn’t be happier with the finished result.
