The clients of this penthouse had vast outdoor areas and whilst they wanted to freshen these spaces with new plants, these had to meet specific requirements of their brief. Whilst the outdoor terraces are generous, the areas to be planted were to be kept modest to limit maintenance requirements. A simple colour palette of green plants creates a cooling effect and softens the space. The sun and the wind can be brutal, so apart from the correct aesthetic the plant selections also had to suit and survive the environment.
