Encore Construction worked with L + R Architectural-Interior Design and MFM Interiors to dramatically expand an antique home in Chatham, MA. The core of the home was built back in the 1700s. The new homeowners wanted to save the 1800 square foot spaces that were part of the original home, but add more than 5,000 square feet of new space to create a wonderful family retreat. The integration between the old and new parts of the house posed particular challenges. Encore Construction needed to blend different ceiling heights, bring old elements up to code, and source finishes to create a seamless feeling between the old and new parts of the house.
