Ironbank Residence

The Ironbank residence is a thoughtfully designed property situated on 80 acres of scenic land. This project represents a balance of innovative design and functional living, tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern families.

Project Overview:
The Ironbank home is a harmonious blend of contemporary and traditional architecture. The design emphasizes open plan living, with large windows and high ceilings that bathe the interiors in natural light. This creates an inviting, warm ambiance that fosters connection and comfort. The spacious living areas and well-appointed bedrooms are perfect for both everyday family life and entertaining guests.

Exterior:
A distinctive roof soars out across the undulating landscape, creating a sheltered sun shaded large glass fronted exterior elevation and outdoor space. The roof is punctuated by two large “pop-up roofs” that allow natural daylight into the interior of building, lighting corridor spaces and providing a unique and dramatic dining area. The strategic use of large windows and high ceilings enhance the warmth and energy flow throughout the home. The living spaces cantilever out of the hillside, anchored into the hill by burying the 4-car garage. This gives the large home a lightness that almost appears to hover out of the ground. Utility spaces, and a fire refuge are cleverly concealed under the main living spaces and buried into the hillside.

Interior:
Open-plan living areas, flexible spaces, and generous bedrooms flow together, with the daytime living spaces orientated towards the sweeping views across the paddocks and the rest of the property. A generous corridor lined with storage sweeps through the centre of the home, filled with light from the clerestory windows above, linking the sleeping wing to the living spaces. The bedrooms and the functional spaces of the house sit on the southern side of the corridor with framed views punched through the distinctive southern elevation to capture views back into the hillside of the property. The bedrooms treatment provides a more private and sound separated space to the interconnected living spaces.
Sustainability & Efficiency:
Equipped with energy-efficient appliances and eco-friendly features, large rainwater collection and storage, and an off-grid photovoltaic and battery system the house the house minimises its energy consumption and provides an almost off grid solution for our clients.

We believe in designing homes that do more than meet functional needs—they should inspire a lifestyle that is comfortable, serene, and connected to nature. The Ironbank residence reflects this philosophy by offering a perfect balance of elegance, space, and a peaceful environment, ideal for family living.
