An Outrigger retracting awning is a wind rated structure. It can be left up in high winds and heavy rain, and does not require a wind or rain sensor. Most retracting awnings are manually operated with a cable winch or a rope tension lever, however they are available with electronic motor actuation.
Most retracting awnings are supported by either poles or interlocking slotted tension arms. All poles, fittings, and retracting mechanisms are individually designed and manufactured in Outrigger's factory.
