Our client, a young professional couple making the move back to Adelaide after a stint in Melbourne, were desperate to find a new home near the beach. However, finding something affordable in the popular beachside suburbs of Adelaide was proving trickier than they first envisaged. That was until they found themselves inspecting a doctor’s surgery, a property which ticked none of the usual homeowner boxes of kitchen, bathroom, laundry and bedrooms!
What it did have was the charm of a bluestone frontage, character features, loads of potential and the all-important proximity to the beach. For stage one, Colindale Design was engaged to design a luxe master ensuite and walk in robe (see t + c + ensuite renovation for photos). Stage two saw our client embark on a larger scale renovation to create a brand new open plan kitchen, living dining area, as well as a new laundry, bathroom, deck and alfresco BBQ. From spatial layout planning, joinery design, materials and finishes selections to sourcing furniture, soft furnishings and artworks, Colindale Design was thrilled to be able to work alongside our client to transform this former doctor’s surgery into a stunning, contemporary family home. All just in time for the safe arrival of their first baby!
