Generated from the quality of works on the Bellairs Avenue project, the nearby Tarrengower Street project designed by Three Bird Shoes involved the rebuilding of a single fronted weatherboard clad miners cottage. The tight site created design challenges as well as building challenges. Maximising space resulted in joinery being installed from floor to ceiling in every room. Cantilever Interiors developed the owners’ design to produce extremely functional work & storage spaces. Other space saving initiatives included a Hills Hoist, salvaged during demolition, which retracts into the living room ceiling & two different sized pivot dining tables, which also retract, this time into the kitchen joinery, when not in use.
