The Gap, Watsons Bay

This landmark property sits opposite Sydney's notorious "The Gap" with views that stretch from the city and harbour bridge across the northern suburbs to north head. The original house was levelled and in its place this contemporary family home was built.
A timeless scheme of timber, concreted and natural stones with predominantly white walls to show off the architecture and serve as a subtle backdrop to the views - not compete with them. Colour and patter was brought in with fabrics and accents of grey throughout the home.
Home to an active family who love to entertain, elements of fun were brought in, like the commissioned graffiti on what would have been a very plain pool fence. The dramatic Forscani "Big Bang" pendant light in the dining void brings perspective to the enormous spaces within this home. The hub of the home is definitely the kitchen with an enormous island bench finished in beautiful Elba stone always ready for entertaining, along with the stainless steel bench top which also acts as a servery to the outside entertaining area.
The kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms are fitted with clever custom joinery ensuring everything has its place. The main bedroom ensuite is finished with luxurious Elba stone bench tops and splashback with italian Basaltina on the floor. Glass splash backs and shower enclosures ensure a practical yet beautiful finish to the children and guest bathrooms, once again with Basaltic floors.
With generous living and entertaining spaces, this house was always built to be an entertainer.
