Tudor Transitional
This very spacious kitchen is in an early 1900's house that features a large brick fireplace just off the kitchen and painted brick around the stove. The homeowner wanted to utilize the brick look in the redesign and brighten the kitchen. We exposed the brick by the bar and painted the brick around the stove to match it. The home owner found a blue she loved therefore we had Plain & Fancy custom match that blue for the cabinetry, highlighting the faint blue cast in the brick. The blue island makes a stunning statement in this kitchen. We incorporated lots of great storage and organizational features such as the pantry with sliding doors into this design. The hardware is from Hafele and allows the doors to open out and slide to the side. Slide out cabinets around the stove provide easy access to common cooking ingredients, a custom cutlery drawer and a deep drawer for bottle storage in the bar area. Marble counter tops lend a sophisticated look. The island is loaded with storage, provides seating for guests and ample prep space. The butcher block in the island is removable for easy cleaning.
