Australian Contemporary Family
We approached the interior with the design intent of relaxed Australian style. It was important that the spaces related to their function primarily between family and children’s activity areas while ensuring they all spoke to same level of comfort and accessibility.
The family room adjacent to the kitchen serves to create a family zone where the combination of relaxation and informal dining take place. A sectional sofa in leather formed the heart of the space with abundant cushions, to echo the playful nature a monkey table is the tiny hero of this collective. Moving into the conservatory a play between both child and adult world collide with the insertion of abundant greenery and bean bags, enabling the space to mimic its semi outdoor nature.
A study and chill out space was created for the children, furniture selections enabled the space to be condensed and packed to a presentable fashion while the reading chair with its bold fabric and witty style makes for a conversation worthy inclusion.
The formal lounge and dining space were designed to be journeyed between, starting and or finishing in one or the other. The dining room is an expression of seduction and warmth with its deep ocean blue hue and minimal colour palette. Moving into the formal lounge the space is reversed with its fresh walls and cushions delivering punches of colour.
The master bedroom serves as sanctuary. A collection of nourishing textures bring calm to the space, the Moorish rug frames the velvet headboard, against this minimal bedside tables take residence. It was key to our client that their bedroom served function and refuge simultaneously.
