Bad Frankie

In the short time since opening its doors in mid-2014, Bad Frankie has become an essential stop in Melbourne for those who appreciate fine spirits and a unique dining experience. Dedicated to showcasing Australian made booze, NORTHBOURNE was commissioned to bring to life the cultural roots from which this vibrant Australian industry has grown, the local community, and the personal histories of the owners.

Using robust locally sourced materials, modern fixtures & fittings, and textures that echo the farms and distilleries behind the signature drinks served, NORTHBOURNE designed a comfortable, intimate space in tune with the honesty of the products behind the bar.
Framed photos of local Australian distillers provide insight into the diversity of products and flavours that are created by these craftspeople, as well as celebrating their accomplishments in the industry to date. Hand made wallpaper designed by Northbourne from imagery collected from the owners and their families adds a personal touch to the space, rounding out a truly memorable bar experience.
